With actions like this, the London disruption (esp the tube) etc, they really are proving themselves to be total pricks, deluded and really quite adapt at alienating the public.

There's no need, when even the BBC doesn't use your services you should know something's wrong, a new computer will not make any difference, garbage in garbage out only quicker.
The reality is that loads of industries dependant on accurate forecasts like aviation, the military, rescue services etc use the met office and they’re excellent.

Nearly missed this in all the excitement.

Greenland’s largest glacier (Jakobshavn) has thickened 2016 - 2019. The thickening has been so pronounced that ice elevations are approaching the 2010 level. Interestingly the nearby ocean has cooled ~1.5°C which represents a return to the cool 1980s. Rick Astley is not responsible. See Joughin et al (2020).

The IPCC was set up as a political wing of the UN. It created and set about delivering "Agenda 21", which is nothing more than a left wing push against capitalism on a global scale. And a desire to form a global government - which is a natural desire of the left wing.
Hence why you get the likes of Russia and China signing up to this in the usual climate conferences.
And its also why the majority of those pushing the "climate crisis" angle are of left wing leaning.
That reminds me, The Infinite Monkey Cage did an episode on conspiracy theories recently.

Those who believe in things like the above probably can't listen because I'm sure the BBC are probably involved somehow, but for those not on the fringes it's a good listen (as are all the Monkey Cages tbh):
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000dfqn

They talk mostly about today's fashionable conspiracy theory topics: flat-earth, vaccines and climate change.

Lawns are incredibly dangerous things.

I would recommend a 12 month Quarantine for the safety of those involved with the digging.

NOT publicly funded.

Another Gates?

Takes money from people in dubious ways and then pretends to be some sort of saint for allegedly attempting to "save" the planet. Or at least the aspects of "the planet" that he may find useful.

The American application of the concept of Philanthropy has become extremely questionable in a globalised world.

Given the current crop of misleading, politicised news reports, some additional news - not that new - and some economics can be of assistance in policymaking.

The OBR estimates that between 2020 and 2024 the UK will spend £44 billion on renewables subsidies.

A fraction of the above astronomical expenditure could be used to deliver vastly improved flood prevention / defences and disaster recovery systems.

Comparable spending in the past 4 or 5 years would have made the UK extremely resilient in the face of natural disasters.

Politics is flooded with useless policy atm.

BBC 'Today' programme this morning was a climate change 'really terrible floods' festival presented by Michal Hussein from an hotel somewhere damp on the Severn. A farmer at about 50 minutes in to the iPlayer replay of the programme blames the flooding on his farm on lack of river maintenance over nearly forty years. He remembers flooding back to 1968.

Here's a bridge on the Somerset Levels. Before and after the river was regularly dredged. With the massive reduction in the size of the channel it is obvious the same level of rain will result in more flooding. Nothing to do with climate change. Think of the amount of dredging that could be done with the money we spend subsidising wind, solar, and EVs.

Would that be the farmer with fields that consist of "Floodplains" ?

If I remember his comment correctly "our house does not flood"...maybe because the generation that built it did not build the fking thing......on the "floodplain" ?

Another demolition job on the CC alarmists distortion of the real story. It's a pity the Beeb can't be forced to publish this, instead of their lying propaganda.
