Gretianity;- the promised false religion.
You talk about false religion and others being “AGW sheep” and being believers.

What exactly do you think regarding AGW?
Nothing; it’s a figment of your imagination.
The climate is changing, has always changed, and will continue to do so. Humans are too insignificant to have measurable effect. We will have to adapt to whatever changes occur, and stop being so arrogant as to believe that we can control the climate in any way.
That's the very definition of a "belief".
Supported by indisputable facts.
That 97% (and rising) of Climate Scientists and 100% of scientific institutions don't agree with.

biggrin

Again, the very definition of a belief.

We're saved. It looks as though Greta will make it to the COP in time, courtesy of a luxury yacht, but surely it can't have two diesel engines? Must be a reporting error.
Damn. Is it another nail in the coffin? That coffin has got more nails than wood.

Stovey have you quit your job yet chap? Haven't you heard, it's a climate emergency. You must be feeling so guilty, how can you possibly live with yourself?

Wow Diderot, you popping up like this reminds me of the unpleasant surprise I got earlier today when I realised my dog farted.

No, I don’t feel guilty at all, I’m trying to do my bit by saving fuel though. When more efficient aircraft come along hopefully I’ll be able to fly them.

I’m not giving up my job because I really enjoy it and it’s well paid and gives me loads of time off.

What difference would me giving up my job make?

Then we are all doomed as China and India are not going to be reducing their emissions anytime soon.

Wash your mouth out you dirty heretic. Somebody will be along in a minute to tell you that the science is all wrong and it's all a global conspiracy.

It’s up to the captain how much fuel actually gets carried though.

You get a flight plan with the minimum required then you add on what extra you need due to weather or delays or routing etc or plus if the airline wants tankering etc

I know loads of pilots that won’t tanker fuel or will reduce the amount of tankered fuel carried, unless there’s an actual shortage at the destination.

What’s truly frightening is the Aussie government plans on opening up massive new coal fields to sell on to other countries.

Aussie politicians are something to behold. All have PH accounts.

We can all make a difference apparently. It's an emergency out there or haven't you heard?

I am making a difference as shown, exactly what difference would it make if I gave up my job?

97% or even 100% of those with a vested interest doesn’t indicate veracity. 100% of the Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderberg-Glucksberg-Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family claim that monarchy is a good thing for all; that’s not true either, it’s good for them though.

It would be a powerful symbolic gesture.

So El Stovey is right and you do think it's all a conspiracy.

Make your mind up.

Conspiracy requires intelligent planning, not just the repetition of easily exposed untruths.

Untruths so easy to expose that nobody has bothered to do it in the last six volumes?

Remarkable.

Please share these revelations with haste I implore you.

True.

Everyone can fall in behind that position and feel that the alleged emergency is someone else's problem to resolve.

Indeed this was a position taken by someone on the 'something needs to be done' side a few days ago, as reported in the medie. No time to find the link right now but no matter.

Their opinion was that it was not something that individuals could reasonably do and expect to achieve anything. Actions were required from the authorities.

Basically an appeal to allow them and their peers to set legally enforceable policy but presented as a way of relieving the plebs from the responsibility of doing pretty much anything of their own volition.

Plebs cannot be trusted.

On that basis, and to save the plebs from themselves and their utterly pointless journeys to other parts of the world, banning flying seems to make a lot of sense. Highly symbolic of course but also a great opportunity to run an experiment about the effects a no fly policy would have on energy flows in the atmosphere.

Would the biosphere warm or cool? Or would a ban have no effect?

And what if extremely poor fire management and political dithering allowed things to get a bit further out of control?

Sorry, sounds a bit conspiratorial doesn't it...it's definitely due to AGW and we must repent. (is that right?)
