I'm looking for advice apartment door entry systems. Currently there is an old handset system in a building, using telephone wire, although it doesn't work thanks to I suspect a sparky not reconnecting it when he moved a consumer unit. But the physical wiring from the old buzzer system to the apartments looks fine (I'll check it all before I order anything, and replace wiring if it isn't ok)

I would prefer to upgrade it to a video based system, and going through various lock/system suppliers, seem to mostly list Chinese made units, and with poor documentation and not doubt dubious support, I'm not really sold on them. I found a 10 year old thread and someone said they use (Came) BPT systems for commercial installs. So I have been going over their product range and they seems you can mix and match to build a system for your needs. I like they have a video monitor that can connect to wifi and allow to be controlled via smartphones, when the other chinese systems required an IP Gateway, which hasn't been released. Plus the BPT system can be optioned with RFID on the Entry Panel, something else is a nice to have.

Has anyone got experience and advice? Or any other systems worth looking at?

Cheers

I put systems with colour video by Bell. Used them in flats and an HMO for adults with learning difficulties. Never had any issues with any of them.

Offer usual door entry options including a mute function. Handy if the local drunks like pressing the call buttons.

I'd be interested in this too; our system is audio-only, 15 years old and starting to become troublesome. I'd love my own Nest-integrated system but whatever we put in will need to be compatible for those older folks who won't be bothered by being able to answer their doorbell remotely.

Reviving my thread from late last year, I have sorted of settled on a Came system - is anyone on here a distributor of their kit that can advise and supply?
