“The Tesla boss, Elon Musk, has said Brexit uncertainty played a role in the firm’s decision to build its first European factory in Germany rather than the UK.

The billionaire entrepreneur revealed that the firm’s European battery plant would be built on the outskirts of Berlin.”

Excellent idea, if anyone can make EV's viable for the masses, then I would expect Germany to be at the forefront followed by the Japanese who are investing in this country as well as at home.

Personally, I don't see battery powered vehicles being the solution long term unless there is a leap in battery tech which solves the issues of weight and charge time plus the thorny question of recycling!

More investment in hydrogen tech, please.

Well i guess it's lucky that "personally" your opinion is being completely ignored by people who actually know what they are talking about! ;-)

(hint, there is no battery recycling issue, and the mass of an EV is effectively already less than that of a ICE in terms of the effect it has on energy consumption)

Great decision for the UK. The last thing we want is another failing foreign company taking millions of taxpayers money and then pulling out and making workers in the area redundant. Let the Germans be taken for mugs for a change.
