Yep if it wasn’t for brexit all manufacturers would always have chosen Britain for every plant. I read it here on Ph.

It’s a fact known to all remainers. Logistics and geography have nothing to do with it.
I might be dumb, well I know I am compared to many but logistically the UK isn't that far away. If the UK is in a logistically/geographically awkward place who would build a factory in Japan or South Korea?

Sure someone will come along and point out how stupid this statement is but I be interested to know the answer?

Not a dumb question. Many specialist manufacturers locate close to the pool of talent and resources, not necessarily their immediate market. Arguably, if a product is global it is less important to have proximity to market, than it is proximity to supply chain. Manufacturers relating heavily on carbon fibre have located in or close to Taiwan - here the government invested over some time in research and education, so you get a workforce that has the skills and knowledge. There is a massing of investment, tech, research, development and skillsbase.

Same in Slovakia for example, where there has been similar investment into skills, which then draws investors into that locale.
