Hi all,

After some advice if you don't mind. Girlfriend's Beetle's windows are playing up. From the driver's side, the windows for both driver and passenger are not working. The passenger one works when using it from the passenger side.

Info online is a bit sparse, so would appreciate any help.

Thanks

If the other side switches for the same window are working correctly that rules out a lot of the common components and makes me suspect a switch/wiring fault on the side that is not working.

If the suspect switch is in the door, it would be worth checking the state of the wiring in the gap between the body and the door.

It sounds as if the issue is with the drivers side window switch or the associated wiring. The wiring is under the most stress is in the door gap, it would be worth removing the rubber boot and inspecting the wiring before doing anything. Providing the switch is ok and the wiring too it could be an issue with the comfort control module (though I doubt it).

Thanks all.

It's a 2008. Thinking about it, the switch does feel like it's passed its best. Hopefully it's only that.

if it is the wires, what would I be looking for? Signs of corrosion?

Cheers

If the cables are broken they will stretch apart at the break, pull cables between door post and door

Found this on Google many moons ago, don't know if it's of any use to you
