It's interesting how many overall votes were cast and how many didn't vote.

Conservative 14M
Labour 10.3M
Total Votes cast 32M
Total Registered voters 47M
Registered voters who didn't vote 15M
67.25% turnout vs 68.5% in 2017
Damned by faint praise... (As opposed to Corbyn and Swinson who are just(ly) damned.)

A line he actually "borrowed" from Adam Hills and "The last Leg"
It’s a good line and deserved a wider audience than just the four people watching
The wife had the Channel 4 Alt-Election comedy program on last night and I thought the exit poll was a piss-take until I asked her to turn over to Sky.

Did you actually vote this time? After all the energy you've expended on here getting your views aired, I do hope so.

Interesting with EU now, is BJ the leader with the strongest hold on their country? Everyone else seems to be in a coalition, minority or weak majority.

the safest option. Less batst mental. A flesh wound as opposed to losing your head.
Shares, and pound soaring on the result.

Do people think Boris will now reshuffle and dump the likes of JRM and also Cummings ? He doesn't need them now. Interestingly Andrew Marr commented on a conversation with one of BoJo's most trusted friends and that person likened him much more to Heseltine than Thatcher.

No I don't. Cummings was clearly instrumental and JRM is well liked and a capable MP even though I don't agree with his theological views which clearly impact his politics

Boris will follow the money. Cummings is deeply invested in this as well and did a good job spreading a lot of crap. Boris on his own? Don't think so, don't know if Boris realises that. JRM is a big name he cannot afford to lose but without Boris probably always destined for the back bench, lots of hedge fund money landing in Tory coffers recently as well. Got to keep them sweet.

He's still a self serving untrustworthy toad - being the least worse option doesn't change that.
Suck it up.
Your'e utterly deluded if you think he won this election because people liked him.

Some are saying there will be a reshuffle.

In terms of that I paid attention to who I saw from the cabinet on the election night broadcasts. Pritti Patel was there and so were Gove. Didn't see any sign of Savvid Javid, but perhaps he appeared later. JRM has been missing all campaign.

Don't think he will get rid of Cummings because the agenda he announced is Cummings agenda. He isn't a Thatcherite right winger he is a radical who doesn't actually like traditional Tory MPs.

I'm pretty sure I'm not living in a parallel universe - have posted this a few times - Cummings quit the team a week or two ago as I understand it.

Yeah, you have. He may have officially. Personally I do not think for one minute that he distanced himself or did not leave enough in play that he had no control. From what I can read about him, he is a control freak and one that is also prone to carry a grudge.

So Boris now has dominant power.

How many affairs do we think he will have during his term!! He will have women throwing themselves at him more than ever.

As per procedure, Cummings resigned his role when Parliament dissolved for the election, along with most special advisers, but was temporarily reinstated to assist the government during the Yorkshire Floods
Not the most reliable of sources but that is my understanding too. He might have a few months off because I understand he put an operation on hold, but as far as I am aware he would be back to work after that.
