Corbyn must be having a good laugh at seeing the Tories forced to move towards another one of his policies they spent the entire election campaign deriding.
Corbyn’s Labour had some good policies, they, weren’t the problem.Corbyn must be having a good laugh at seeing the Tories forced to move towards another one of his policies they spent the entire election campaign deriding.

Corbyn wanted to give free internet access to the whole nation, you know, including the kids at Eton.
God you're sad.
How else could you do it? Surely wide coverage would have been accessible by anyone? Are you saying this was not a good idea because it was accessible by everyone? I think a free public Internet system would be a great help, perhaps even a leveller for some. God you're sad.

I'm not saying it was not a good idea, bad idea, or anything in between. I am saying that MX5nut is being typically disingenuous saying that the Tories are now having to roll out one of Corbyns manifesto pledges. They are not, they are paying for internet access for kids who can't afford it so they can learn.

It’s 10,000 families and it’s BT don’t forget so they screw those applicants for years to come when the free portion rolls off

You think government run internet would be a good thing? I imagine it would be both terrible and extremely expensive, with only medium and high earners paying for it.We would be paying hundreds per year extra tax per year for other people to watch porn.

Invest in infrastructure where it is needed for remote communities?
Basically anything other than buying up one company that provides it and controlling the whole thing thus putting many other companies out of business, creating a monopoly and being a bit big brother about it, and giving it away for free to tens of millions of people who can comfortably afford it
Utterly ridiculous policy and conceptually showed how idiotic Labour's leadership was that they put it forward.when there are so many other things to spend money on

My favourite part will remain the time they interview with one of his supporters, carrying a Socialist Worker Say No to Racism placard, telling us how Jews are sneaky and like money.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iaide-nrOJc

I doubt it, he comes across as a very humourless being, which was a bit of a shame as he was such a figure of fun for so many.Corbyn must be having a good laugh at seeing the Tories forced to move towards another one of his policies they spent the entire election campaign deriding.

I would have no issue with a cheap basic service for those that genuinely cannot afford it, but free broadband for everyone is ludicrous.

All attributed [thanks to the Lynton Crosby spin-meisters] to any Government under Jeremy Corbyn, yet here we are.
For Corbyn it was policy though, not the response to a global pandemic. The downfall of Capitalism is not a great policy, and any party that welcomes a global economic crisis with glee should never be in power. All attributed [thanks to the Lynton Crosby spin-meisters] to any Government under Jeremy Corbyn, yet here we are.
That's the modern Labour party for you.
Those using the measures taken by the government as an emergency response to COVID as some sort of proof that Corbyn and Labour were right all along are either:
a) not very bright
b) being deliberately obtuse
The above aside, there is a world of difference between the government effectively sponsoring broadband for poor kids who otherwise wouldn't have it, and nationalising an entire industry to provide for free what the majority can comfortably afford. The latter was a ridiculous policy at the time and remains so now.

So if we had voted Labour, there would be no global pandemic causing businesses to close? All attributed [thanks to the Lynton Crosby spin-meisters] to any Government under Jeremy Corbyn, yet here we are.
