Yes, the anti-education lobby is gaining traction https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Earth_creation...

It's difficult to not laugh or punch in the face someone who believes that Earth is 10,000 years old and that the dinosaurs existed at the same time as humans but were wiped out at the time of the Flood, but FFS Young Earth is a new (to me) term that people seem to be having serious conversations about.

I kid you not, they walk among us mad

Don't you realise that by linking to their nonsense and highlighting it you become an ally of their stupidity and a spreader of the rot you despise?

The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

The demise of traditional religion has left the emotionally weak homeless. Now they are searching for belief and hope. That's why this crap is growing.

I find it quite funny how posters seem to think they have the most intellect and that any other opinion or way of thinking must, by default, be nonsense and stupid.

These posters would be the same morons who would have laughed at those who thought the world was round once upon a time.

You just dont know what we will uncover in 5, 10, 20 years from now so dont be so cocksure yourself

Nope - you're just wrong on that one I'm afraid.

If you have some odd theories about something, give us the detailed and testable evidence that you have for that theory and MAYBE it might be worth considering.

Just shouting and hollering nonsense from the sidelines does not make a person right.

And, regarding the people who you claimed laughed at those who said the world was round (which it technically isn't), who were these people and when were they laughing? Again, you have stated a fact. Now back it up with the historical evidence.

They need to give you detailed and testable evidence? Think you need to get out abit pal. Nobody needs to prove anything to you.

If its something they think is right for them based on faith (maybe look up the definition) or facts/evidence - let them crack on with it instead of pretending to be be a know it all.

Your last statement - seriously? I stated a fact?!

I am fairly sure that what we will uncover in the next 20 years will NOT be that dinosaurs lived 10000 years ago and were wiped out in the time of Noah.

Anyone who believes that is mentally ill.

You obviously don't understand the basics of rational thinking and the scientific method. On that basis, I will end my conversation with you because the wavelength on which you operate is completely different to mine. You are entitled to think what you like - but just because you think something does not make it true.

Is clio007 trolling?

It's perfectly reasonable to be dismissive of things which are nonsense like flat earth / young earth.

Yes for sure. Not everything is based on scientific method (which changes with advancement and technology) and rational. That is my point.

We might have trampled on one of his beliefs - flat earther, creationist, or germ theory denialist? Anti-vaxxer, moon truther, homeopath? Give us a clue!

I won't be engaging with him as it is obvious he has a higher opinion of his own intellect than the evidence seems to support. I prefer sensible conversations.

Is this not quite common amongst some of the highly religious in some parts of the USA?

It's here too. Seems to be spreading like wildfire.

Made me chuckle when I saw an Antivaxer being referred to as a "Pro Disease-er" biggrin
