Back in August 2018 - was looking to move to the M4 Competition. However after driving the M2 Lci as a comparison, i fell in love with the M2! Unable to order new and only able to order the M2 Competition going forward i took a punt on it.
Spec:
LBB, DCT and all options..

I received the M2C October 2018 and was immediately bitten by it. The syling and overall looks when collecting in the flesh to sitting in those seats after seeing them light up when opening the door. To firing it up for the 1st time.
I then proceeded to put the 1200 miles on it ASAP to get the run in service completed which took no time as this car is also my daily.

Once that was out the way was time for the modfications.

Springs and spacers to enhance the stance and get rid of the high ride height! Which for me transforms an already good looking car into a mean AF looking car.
Then lots of additional carbon of course..

However more importantly needing to address was the sound or lack of it, which was the only thing i was generally dissapointed in from stock!
I went for the Remus axle back which transformed the sound and sensation when driving the car. This mod simply enhanced the overall note and more importantly those overrun burbles we all seem to love smile

By January 2019 the M2C was how it should have left the factory (in my oppinon of course) continuing the run throughout the winter of 2019 - the only hardship keeping it clean and those wheels!
What was evident during this period especially as a daily is the overall lack of adhesion from the Michelin PS's during these bleak months..
Other than that the car continued to amaze me in all conditions.

By this point i am in to 5000 miles of completely trouble free and fine arse motoring. Noticing the car starting to really loosen up too and even more impressive fuel usage actually improving on my overall daily commute - getting around 33mpg out of a car like this is just staggering really!

Then throughout spring and into the warmer months having a mix of daily use and spirited drives around the country i continued to be more and more impressed, the exhaust getting a nice deeper note through build up and the motor continuing to loosen up.

By August 2019 i decided to go for another exhaust mod and add the Remus link pipe to remove the resonator just off the OPF's. And WOW blown away again by another transformation in the sound and overall grin factor as the burples become LOUD smile
This coupled with some panel filters to improve the induction and the recoding of the ASD to remove the fake sound became another nice addition..

By October 2019 and 1 year in with 16,000 miles on the car and coming up for the 1st service. I am still driving a car making me just as excited as the first day of ownership, which is a rarity for me personally..

Now for this winter and lessons learned from previous i went for some winter wheels and tyres, switching the 437M's with Michelin Alpins. Massively impressed with these tyres and their ability cope with the copious amount of wet weather we have had, unfortunately needing to drive a little steadier on dryer days as you can feel the tyres struggle a lot more to transfer the power in the dry conditions - however non the less certainly worth the investment when used as daily.

As of the today I am 18K miles in, 1st service done with a lot of updates from BMW - DME, DCT and Idrive general chod.
No issues, no CEL, no failures and no loss of overall joy as a i continue to use.

Ultimately for anyone looking at an M Car especially as a daily, from my perspective you cant go wrong with the M2C. It is a good (ish) all round daily car which you can transform in to a weekend weapon as you please.

Overall MODS:
Carbon rear diffuser
Carbon CS look boot spoiler
Carbon Rear sill flicks
Carbon from CS look front splitter
Carbon front wing inlays
Remus Axle Back exhaust
Remus Mid Pipe Delete
PiperX panel filters
Eibach Springs 20mm all round drop
15MM rear spacers
12MM front spacers (both removed to accomodate the current 437M wheels and winter tyres as they have extra width)

I ordered my M2Comp in August 2018 and,like you,got it in October.Sunset Orange,dct. Replacing M4.
Not a daily as we have a 140i Shadow Edition.
Best M car I have had but have just sold it to get my Lexus LC500 V8. Completely different experience and feels really special.

Interesting review. I’ve just sold mine after a year and about the same miles. Mine was a LBB manual, and loved the monster power and much else. The problem for me was that it wasn’t ‘special’ enough did a special car and for a DD too short geared on motorways which started to get to me and the 911 itch never went away - at the time of buying I weighed up 911s. Have replaced it with a Porsche 997.2 C4S (manual) and a X3M competition that I’ll use on a rotating basis.

Nice write up. One of these seems like the logical move from my M140i in a wee while when I get itchy feet.
