Diesel Particulate Filter
Discussion
Hi,
I have an Audi A5 2.7 TDI which has gone into limp mode due to a particulate filter fault.
An AA technician could not clear the fault code which meant he could not get it to regenerate.
Would it be possible to clean the filter enough to clear the error by running it at max revs when stationary and still in limp mode, it will currently get to about 3800 rpm?
Thanks

I wouldn't expect that to help in the slightest. If it was possible to clean a DPF like that, they would never block in the first place. What is the fault code?
Running it at 3,800rpm wont do anything. During regeneration the temperature in the DPF has to be raised to burn off the soot. In Fords for example the temp can hit 550*c and this is achieved by the ECU altering the injection timing slightly and injecting more fuel.
You need to identify the fault, fix it then regeneration will take place.
