lets hope so, let labour get back to it,s roots.
But it's roots are large numbers of people whose only employment opportunities were a small number of local industrial sites, who couldn't realistically change jobs to better themselves much less careers, and were still under the impression that socialism works and provides a better life for the majority than free market capitalism. techiedave said:

With all the talk of Russian interference, I’m surprised Momentum haven’t found themselves under more scrutiny.

I don't think it's the end of Momentum, this result is too easy to blame on Brexit, bad weather, media bias, etc... I think McDonnell probably has enough brains for him & Corbyn to step down and let someone else be the face, but Momentum still control the party machinery.
The trouble is their colours are so firmly pinned to the far left mast that it will take years, and probably bitter division to bring the party back to being electable. In just 4 years Corbyn has achieved the incredible feat of undoing decades of this struggle and dumped the Labour party back in 1983.grantone said:

Bad weather nonsense. Turnout is aligned to previous elections techiedave said:

Very true. Like a virus, they'll infiltrate under some benign cover and never really go away. These people are dangerous they are everywhere

They have a real problem. Momentum is part of an incredibly successful drive to recruit large numbers of young, enthusiastic activist members of the party. They are completely at odds with the typical labour voter. They refuse to acknowledge their policies or their leader is at fault. How does say a Jess Phillips become leader when it's voted for by a membership who are mostly momentum fans. Last night labour MP after labour MP said Corbyn was the problem to their voters, but the leadership kept saying it was solely Brexit. The will never learn
