A Boris victory really isn’t a huge surprise.

He’s odious but he has found himself in a unique position where he is appealing to a venn diagram of voters for whom the area of intersection is Brexit at the same time as his primary opponent is taking his party’s most extreme position in living memory.

Calling a Boris win wasn’t bold. But it was done by a good number for people who are for and against him on these boards and further afield.

Welcome back posters.

What’s the 500page rule?
The forum software falls over somewhere around the 500+ page mark, so they create new threads before it happens.

Close vote in Coventry. according to local BBC reporter

"I’m told some Conservative votes found in the a Labour pile in Cov NW. They now think it’s a lot closer than was originally thought.
Could be close.
45mins estimated time for the recounts."

I thought the NHS was devolved in Scotland - to the SNP?

I think there was still room for the combination of Labour + Remain votes to have led to a hung parliament. The 'anyone but Boris' campaign has been vociferous, and his campaigning wasn't exactly stellar, even if it did have some highlights.

As I understand it, she'll still remain as leader of the party, in the same way Sturgeon is the SNP leader but won't be in the house, so the libs will need a westminster leader.

Which right now, is just the one guy that ousted Zac Goldsmith.

Decent speech, magnaminous in defeat.

Perhaps the next step for the Liberal democrats is a rebranding exercise. Start with the party name....... drop the s on the end....

On that note, 4 more hours of sleep beckons. Don't have to be anywhere till 9am anyway.

Cons have lost St Albans to the Lib Dems! That's an oddball one.
