Are you seriously suggesting that anybody who is divorced should precluded from participating public affairs - all divorces, after all, being the breaking of lifelong contracts?

That is a seriously high standard for public life that you are setting.
We should have a seriously high standard for the political leader of the country. Their personal life has a bearing on that standard.

It is none of our business. One thing (perhaps the only thing) I agree with Jeremy Corbyn on is he refused to be interviewed outside his house. Personal and public lives are seperate.

Unless of course you wheel out your personal life as a 'prop'.

Unless it compromises his ability to do his job, he can have as many kids as he likes. Plenty of low intelligence, jobless scroungers who rely on the rest of us to pay for their chosen lifestyles are at liberty to do so, so it's his choice.

Despite the fact that as unpalatable as it seems to some to have to admit it, the truth is that there were no viable alternatives to the Torys in this election, if not them and therefore him, what else was there? I seem to remember that Labour introduced something approaching a 90% tax in the 70s, which is exactly where Corbyn wanted to take us back to, anyone really arguing in favour of that?

I think the details of the PMs families lives should be private. It's not fair to report on how his kids got on at school, or that his wife has had a fall out with her mum.

But I think it's a matter of public interest how many kids the PM has got, and how those kids are supported, financially and emotionally.

From what we know, he currently has 6 kids by 3 women. If a Muslim man running for high office had this situation, or if a female politician had 6 kids by 3 men, most of Boris's defenders on this thread would be all over them like a rash.

What would you do about it if you knew?
go on and on and on about it some more, obviously its the key issue threatening the country in his mind.

Obviously we need someone who made a show of being really virtuous, I can think of a few 20th century leaders who did...
Yes, oddly I'm more concerned about his policy decisions.

first thing he should do is announce that we're going to crack on with HS2 and also Northern Powerhouse Rail - this will create jobs and stimulate the economy

Suspect that HS2 could be cancelled with those monies funding Northern Powerhouse Rail and road projects - funding both could be a stretch

Nope, none with his first wife, 4 with his second wife, and 2 with different girlfriends whilst still married to second wife (so we're told, unfortunately he refused to confirm or deny). If Carrie is pregnant (as the rumour mill suggests), that'll be a 3rd with a 3rd girlfriend, so 7x4. Ulrika Johnson gets all kinds of stick for 4x4, so 7x4, I think I'm quite entitled to judge.
You're not and the fact that you think you are give, suggests you may be better suited to mumsnet.

In theory perhaps, but in reality, I doubt it.

The EU has specific funds and grants set up for deprived areas. The UK government wont be able to match what the EU offers as well as fund all the other things they say they want to.

The government will probably spend more on other, more strategic projects where they'll say one of the benefits is helping deprived areas e.g. HS2. Which it might. But I reckon there will be less funding for local projects in deprived areas e.g. local regeneration.

You're an imbecile. laugh

I don't know or care how many kids Sadiq Khan has. My dislike for him is purely on his professional life
Same for Angela Rayner or Dianne Abbott

But keep trying to pigeonhole your sworn mortal enemies laugh We on the other hand don't even care about you biggrin

I think his point was that the government has already committed the money currently paid to the EU toward other projects, so not sure there will be finding for the projects the EU have been funding.

Appoint me as Minsiter for Transport.

I've have birching stations in public to sort out all the ChavBruv drivers. biggrin

Or alternatively sort out Criminal Justice. Don't even pretend that rehab works. Change the definition of life to until death. Ban concurrent sentencing. Stop allowing prisoners to only serve half their term. Stop widespread abuse of the appeals process by jailing lawyers/solicitors/barristers if their claim for their client fails. The public need to treat the legal profession in the same contempt as car salesmen and estate agents...

I really am, just in the same way you're entitled to judge me, and just have.

It's a free country (for the time being).

I hope you never find yourself in a situation where you and yours need the services of a good brief.

How much contempt did you show to the person involved when you last used a conveyancer ? wink

First step would be to restore funding to the Ministry of Justice so courts could actually deal with cases in a timely manner. When it takes 2 years or more for a case to be heard, it's not surprising convictions don't happen as often as expected.

Where would we put all these prisoners? One of the reasons for introducing automatic release at half sentence was to deal with overcrowding.

Then there's the huge lack of resources in the police force - not just the reduction in officers (which he's promised to almost reverse) but the lack of detention facilities. Central London only has a fraction of the stations with cells that it used to. So many suspects end up being released immediately rather than spending a night or two in the holding cells. Or officers spend hours waiting to drop off suspects

These issues can be fixed but need massive long term investment - is there money for this in addition to all the other promises?
