I would go for Kier Starmer (leader) and Lisa Nandy (deputy), but the momentum group will want people more left than these two. Will be interesting to see which way this goes.

Not a bad shout but she’s just had a baby so may not want the extra grief just yet...

Was my old MP and she was a breath of fresh air compared to the last incumbent. Very active in the area and has had a few positive results. Not a Momentum loon (in fact she had to fight off a Momentum insurgency) and came across as intelligent and competent when she knocked on my door whilst canvassing.

Made no secret of expressing her desire for the deputy role last time around after Ed so could be a dark horse in the race.

I'd second that but given how critical she was of Labours policies towards the red wall prior to the election I don't think she'd get the support.

Can't put my finger on it, but there's something I just don't like about her.

They need someone with a backbone like Andy Burnham at the helm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRVpds_YQH8

Her face doesn’t move when she speaks and she has a tiny mouth.

Well, if you like people with intelligence, that'll be it. Because she really is as dim as it gets. I recall her on Pienaar's Politics a few weeks ago, trying to explain to JP how Labour would value shares when nationalising energy companies, the Royal Mail, and water companies.
It became obvious that she had no clue. She just kept repeating "fair value" but couldn't put even a ballpark number on it. And when JP pointed out that a share price was actually a fair value, she couldn't grasp that idea at all.

And yes, she does have thin lips and a tiny mouth.

They had the right idea putting the brakes on for a few months so the spotlight could shift onto other guilty people in the party.
They may as well get someone thats easy on the eyes and ears as they wont be doing anything much for the next 5-10 years.
Exactly - The left are racing to fill the vacuum with thier preferred candidate and keep pushing thier (failed) narrative. The sensible heads need to get a grip and slow all this down so they actually formulate a set of policies that can get them elected, under a leader who is credible. They probably won't though - Which is a disaster for everyone because an unchallenged right wing Tory government will be bad for everyone.
I disagree, it's going to take years to rebuild the Labour brand (if it's not already broken beyond repair), they need Corbyn out ASAP along with his Momentum henchmen and someone remotely electable in there..

If they've got half a brain cell (which I doubt), they'll put Jess Phillips in there. Yes she always looks as if she got up 20 minutes late and got dressed in a hurry, yes she's got a Brummie accent that would baffle Jasper Carrot (couldn't actually think of anyone else from Birmingham), but she's got a sensible head on her and she's not frightened to get involved in the difficult stuff, in that "sex education for kids" row that blew up earlier in the year she was very supportive of the school head (Corbyn wouldn't have been as "minorities" were involved), she even got an exclusion zone set up around the school. She's also not tainted by support for Saint Jezza. I say that as someone who's voted Conservative all my life.

That's bang on! Rebecca Long-Bailey as the ventriloquist and Richard Burgon as the dummy.

I like her too, shadow cabinet material, but can't imagine her in the top job. Good pals with JRM iirc.

The one on the left reminds me strangely of Ronald Fraser as Jock McTaggart in "The Wild Geese". I'm not getting it.

Can't imagine either of them having a face to face conversation with Trump, Macron, Putin, Merkel types really.

Especially not sneery Crayons.

You might let them talk to Trudeau I suppose.

They do seem to lack gravitas - in fact all of the current candidates do.
