Some might suggest that the very fact you even considered getting some air in such conditions means that it is unlikely that any of your lobes or synapses are intact. Perhaps you have long-term damage from previous unintentional interfaces with scenery?

AS-90 firing 'assisted' ammunition from a larger calibre barrel can, I'm led to believe, be modified to fire out to 40 km, but yes, in standard trim firing conventional ammunition it would fall about 9 km short and blow a brief, but nasty hole in the Channel. There are a few V1 Flying bombs still knocking around in military museums, and the Science Museum has a V2, though...
