Yes mate, that’ll be it.

I asked you a very easy to understand question, twice.

You avoided it and went off down entirely unrelated avenues.Twice.
Be fair, he's now played the patriotism card and that trumps everything else.

You have even lower horizons than I had assumed if that what you consider a day making achievement.

Still anything to keep you from actually answering a question eh ?

No it isn't, it is a simple statement of fact.

As for the ex soviet states why do you think the EU, of which the UK is the second greatest net contributor of funds into did not have more say in how the funds were allocated? the EU wanted the UK to be the second greatest net contributor of funds, into its coffers, but only have a 27th say in how the EU`s fund were allocated.
Do you really dislike the UK so much, you want the EU to use it as a source of cash, but very little else?

Forgive me I am a mere punter on a motoring forum, and I don't know the answer to that question.
Please enlighten me. What do you think should have happened to the ex soviet basket case economies, and who do you think should have paid for what happened to them,
Why, when it was the UK which allowed the EU and a free Europe to exist now, and has already paid much in doing so, .do you feel the UK should pay so much towards other countries, many of whom do not have, and never have had the UK`s interests at heart?.

I’ve changed my mind great idea.
The funny thing about this post is you can't tell if you're joking.

Normally PPP posts the same thing time and time again. It's odd because he seems to retype it every time rather than store and copy and paste. The above post shows why he should stick to his normal irrational post.

I am sure the poster did not serve in WW2, maybe his parents did but depending on age could even be grand parents. Both my parents fought. My mother was in the land army and fought a lot of cows and cow st. My father was conscripted. He was one of the first in his unit into France. Since his unit was the regimental stores it was some way from the front. He did fight a lot of paper, bulldog clips, and treasury tags.

I have great respect for all who fought for the allies from many countries. They where tested and where generally not found wanting.

There sacrifice was theirs, I or the UK get no reflected glory.

Besides the obvious historical flaws from the poster. The poster seems to no idea that after WW2 most of Europe was not free.

Oh and do you really think our resident correspondents are avid readers of Mr Bukovsky’s work ?
Is everyone who disagrees with you either an ignorant prick or on the make? Or both?

No.

Any more stupid questions ?

What did you think when you read the book, did you agree with its premise that the EU is comparable to the USSR.

There are I suspect numerous reasons that could surface as to why I disagree with making such a comparison. As it stands the examples posited so far sit, for me at least, either under stupid, hyperbole or both.

It isn't really stupid, is it?

You said anyone who uses the term EUSSR is a prick, at least according to people who have spent time in eastern Europe. Then when I pointed out that a Soviet dissident used the term as the title of a book drawing a direct comparison, you said "to sell books."

I haven't actually read the book. I have read articles by Bukovsky and I would say that while the EU is not the USSR there are valid points of comparison which mean it is possible to use the term without being an ignorant prick or cynical peddler of sensationalism.

The “does anyone who disagrees with you” was a stupid question.

I will readily concede that Mr Bukovsky is highly unlikely to be a stupid prick. I’ve read his book and some of his articles and I think his construct is rather simplistic and designed to catch attention. One of the essential premises is that the the ex Bloc states exhibited a Stockholm Syndrome form of behaviour and “needed” to clutch on to a sense of central command. It’s an opinion, but not one I share. I freely admit though that I didn’t have him in mind when I made my statement and therefore laid myself open to your challenge.

I would contend however that our resident cut and passers of the phrase are neither as well informed nor have they read and taken his work as inspiration. In their case it remains ill informed, stupid and hyperbolic.

Getting back to the thread subject, my fireworks are two packs of multi shot cakes and four monster rockets. The display will only last for two minutes so start at 10.59pm and risk prosecution for breaking the law ignoring the 11.00pm firework curfew hehe Yes I know, there’s still rebellion in the old fart smile Bottle of champ’s and beers with the music from Pet Shop Boys (not live obviously;)
Go West.
Have a sneaking feeling. that I’m the only brexiteer in our road! anyhow inviting brexiteer pals and family.
Not my daughter and hubby though as they were staunch remainers and I don’t want to offend them
so it’s a little awkwood.

As for the bongs, must have a recording of Jules Holland’s Hootenanny somewhere and I can edit down the bonging number. We will not fly the Union flag just in case Emily four bellies is around, she doesn’t like that sought of thing apparently.
