Yes exactly , they won't despite us doing well or very well post Brexit , narrow minded, unadventurous , inward looking people don't like change ,
they seem to be the same type of reasonably educated but not the free thinking public school types or people who pushed back against their state education ,
sort of bland lower middle class people that the state school system churns out, worker drones perhaps with a hive mentality hence voted remain and will never change their opinion .. especially if they think they have been successful and are /were happy with their lot ...
Read back what you have written. Do you really think that it represents the values your school believes are important?

I do however think people should weigh things up a little better !!!

I agree, however there is a difference between either private celebration or private mourning and an official event. If some people want to let off some fireworks, dance round the maypole or some banners, that's fine with me. They can celebrate or mourn as they please. Given the nation remains as evenly split as ever over Brexit, national government should be doing neither.
How so?Why should people who thought leaving the Eu, be at least foolish and at worst damaging, suddenly change their mind?
Once everyone reaches acceptance, how would the nation be 'as split as ever'? If you accept that it wouldn't, I simply don't see how it's possible that the country is as split as ever, right now. It seems pretty obvious that we're past peak division, and thus, not "as split as ever". Polls seem to agree, for what little they're worth.

Why then object if those who think otherwise have a bit of a knees up ?Why should people who thought leaving the Eu, be at least foolish and at worst damaging, suddenly change their mind?
Why was it OK for them to repeatedly, noisily and publicly demonstrate their displeasure at the referendum result, but those of the pro Brexit persuasion must celebrate their pleasure at the leave result privately? Is this another case of remainer dual standards?

Won't most people be in bed asleep though.
I know I will as long as some ahole doesn't let off fireworks.
Really! you begrudge somebody enjoying a private party now? I expect you are the person to go around to a neighbour complaining about their barbi smoke on a summers evening as well. I know I will as long as some ahole doesn't let off fireworks.

And yet it was apparently OK for thousands, or was it hundreds of thousands? to repeatedly march in the streets, to express their disappointment at the result of the 2016 referendum,

All the brexiteers did a march from somewhere up north, nothing to stop them going to London for a March. I am sure a mini bus is not expensive. Why was it OK for them to repeatedly, noisily and publicly demonstrate their displeasure at the referendum result, but those of the pro Brexit persuasion must celebrate their pleasure at the leave result privately? I think if you and your family and friends wish to celebrate, who are we to say otherwise. Naturally I will neither celebrate nor feel any emotion one way or the other. That long since gone. I was divorced many years ago and never felt any urge to celebrate then. Just reflection on failing to make something work.
I not particularly bothered by the London thing but suggest it may attract some undesirables from both sides which may mar any event.

Why worry over a bong. If there is some concern that the bong not getting bonged the all get out on the streets and protest it like the leavers did.
Found this for No 10 clock illumination. It has an alarm as well, I am sure Cummings can manage it. Bargain.

I'm not entirely sure how our wonderful police force are going to be able to differentiate between
the millions of celebratory fireworks being employed on a truly historic moment , and the noise
of legions of histrionic Remnants heads exploding as the eleventh bong reverberates all
across these sceptred Isles.
