Cant help thinking they need to break the mindset of those in social housing and relying on the state feeling they have a right to live in London.

Insensitive people to relocate into other areas of the UK.
This should take some of the burden away.
Cant help thinking some youngsters will stand a better chance in life being brought up in areas they dont have to claim being in a gang is the only way to survive.

Unfortunately lots of young parents dont actually care about their kids so would rather stay on the gravy train than give their kids a chance.

A toll free motorway straight through the middle from North to South.

Why are there no trams in Central London?

For clarity, I most definitely DO NOT do it.

In the past, had to visit occasionally client offices in central London taking train into Paddington and then horrific sejourns on the tube.

Frequently get calls from recruitment agencies for jobs in London. Tell them that i dont need the reduction in quality of life and aggro.
I rarely used the tubes. Mixture of walking and buses. Sometimes cabs if there were two or three of us heading to a meeting.

I still go back and love it when I do. My daughter loved it too when she was younger. I suppose neither of us need a lot of sleep 5 - 6 hours max.

She lives in the states now but still a chip off the old block so up at 5 ish.

On the other hand, cannot believe this piece of art is 10 years old. Feels as fresh now as when I first saw it.

I like a good tram but they shouldn't really exist.

Went to Rome a few years ago and sat at a pavement table in a lovely restaurant right next to a tram line. One went by every few minutes. THEY"RE TRAINS! ....Pavement Trains. Imagine any town that doesn't have trams and the council saying "right, we're going to have trains running along the pavement...they'll have little bells and will only travel at a-mile-an-hour so it will be fine!.

Anyway....

DLR was originally going to be a tram network running as far as Westminster IIRC but the upheaval for construction and what's under the roads rendered the idea unworkable.

Now you’ve done it!

We had this thread before and it basically ended in handbags at dawn and many deaths were recorded. Best not go there...
There are a million opinions on this, but only one right answer. There are 32 London Boroughs. They make up London. None of those places are in Kent, Surrey, Herts or non existent Middx, although they may have been in the past. Anywhere not in a London Borough is not in London.

So what is he doing he shouldn’t and what isn’t he doing he should?

Where would you like the funds to come from?

The current Mayor didn’t buy some bloody pointless unusable water canons. I thought Boris was a pretty good but made some st decisions as well, much like his predecessor.

Easy to criticise if you’ve never stood up to do anything.

I think Boris should be in jail for some of the things he got up to as London mayor, including using taxpayers money to give a £100K grant to a firm whose owner he was fking.

To balance that view I moved to London to live and work in London and have everything on my doorstep.

Recruiters are always suggesting I do and work for some outfit with an office down the M4/M3 whatever.

Misses the point, really.

Except (to expand on my previous post) Shenfield Station, which physically is in the Borough of Brentwood, Essex but falls under the control and governance of Transport for London which is not a political area but a quasi-government body or something.

But your point stands and is bob on!

Well, he’s not competent or effective. I rest my case.

Not sure why you need to get personal though. You have no idea whether I have ever ‘stood up to do anything’.

Can there be a more depressing and dejecting feeling than being on the Paddington train into London at 7 or 8 am on a weekday morning?

Ok apart from that a a few other things. I think he may be a bit myopic.
