People that go on cruises are always moaning about something. They get a free of charge extended holiday and they are still not happy.
They are largely elderly and facing a deadly virus,, and you think they’re moaning???

12% now (weighted a bit by inclusion of the worldwide figures). And on dodgy Chinese stats. Oh and not taking into account the 7 day correction. Apart from that’s its bang on at a %.

Coronavirus: Largest study suggests elderly and sick are most at risk
I'm quite fond of my elderly relatives, so that snippet (which we already knew) isn't a huge comfort.
Do you fret about them every Winter?

My mum is high risk, over 70, I am high risk, a compromised immune system, yet I spend my time worrying about important stuff, like why walnut whips don't have a walnut atop them nowadays..

I love the fact that couple were pestering the government to repatriate the.

As a British citizen I'm quite happy if you leave them where they are thanks.

They were complaining the other day that those giving them round the clock care and monitoring don’t speak English.

My heart bleeds for them.

My Dad passed away six months ago and my Mum who is coming up for 80 and single for the first time in 60 years, is in Paris for the week (my son and his boyfriend have glammed her up with clothes, make-up and dyed her hair pink!) She mentioned Coronavirus a couple of weeks ago and we told her wash her hands and carry out proper hygiene routines (as she normally would tbh) and make sure having fun was her priority.

I’m more worried she’ll get on the wrong train!

What because they chose a cruise for their holiday??? And you wouldn’t?

No chip on my shoulder just don’t like people who think the world owes them something. They should be bloody grateful for the care they’re getting. Not complaining

I think they have cabin fever - latest post on FB "4pm 18th: Frankly i think this is a setup! We are NOT being taken to a hospital but a hostel. That’s where partners are sent waiting out there quarantine. No phone, no wi-fi and no medical facilities. I really am smelling a very big rat here! Waiting for the transfer now. xx"

My parents are going on a cruise next month (Canary Island). I asked them if it was a good idea or not. My dad said he'd lived through a world war, jumped out of aeroplanes whilst getting shot at (Suez 1956) and been in all sorts of scrapes over the last 84 years. He says out of all the risky things he's done, this is one of the less risky.

I hope they're alright, but that's completely out of my hands. I hope they have a great time.

So to recap. You’re 70+ with a lethal virus on the loose and trapped on a cruise ship you don’t want to be on, and the only medical attention you’re getting which might make the difference between survival or not says something and you can’t understand because your captors cant be arsed getting a translator...

And you message home to worried family and you wouldn’t tell them? Get real.

Chatting with my son who use to work on cruise ships, he said the air conditioning is common on most cruise ships, the air you breathe will be common to lots of cabins, it cannot be switched off from an individual cabin although there are shut off doors incase of fires to isolate the air conditioning.

To some extent, yes, though I make sure they get their flu jabs. They've been quite ill with some sort of cold this week.

But the point is not that I am hugely worried about COVID-19, but that what worry I do have is not mitigated by "don't worry it only kills the old and the sick" - because that's who my worry is for.
