I think it is likely we will see a global pandemic. If a pandemic happens, 40% to 70% of people world-wide are likely to be infected in the coming year. What proportion is asymptomatic, I can't give a good number

This is just a worst case scenario and based on the last two pandemics of 1957 and 1958 they weren’t as bad as that and they started out worse at the beginning than this has

The good news is that help is on the way - China has long had the technology to train hundreds of thousands of ducks and chickens to eat locusts

The bad news is.....they've started sneezing.

Zhong Nanshan team has published its first study paper on the novel #coronavirus, highlighting the latest findings, which showed that the maximum incubation period of the #nCoV was 24 days NOT 9-14 days as previously thought.

In motoring news, GM, Fiat Chrysler and Toyota confirm they are reopening factories and restarting production in China following an extended Covid-19 holiday.

It's encouraging to see things are starting to normalise.

From what I know about car plant run rates I think that news is a long way away from normal.

There must be some maths somewhere that V6 can manipulate to represent a 100% mortality rate...

They were complaining the other day that those giving them round the clock care and monitoring don’t speak English.

My heart bleeds for them.
What because they chose a cruise for their holiday??? And you wouldn’t?

You have too big a chip on your shoulder pal.
No chip on my shoulder just don’t like people who think the world owes them something. They should be bloody grateful for the care they’re getting. Not complaining
And you wouldn’t complain?

rofl
Not about the language being spoken no. That you presumably would says a lot.
So to recap. You’re 70+ with a lethal virus on the loose and trapped on a cruise ship you don’t want to be on, and the only medical attention you’re getting which might make the difference between survival or not says something and you can’t understand because your captors cant be arsed getting a translator...

And you message home to worried family and you wouldn’t tell them? Get real.
Captors?

Get a grip.

Captors.

Or technologically cutting edge country providing likely world class medical facilities at no cost other than a bit of your time to ensure you get to go home safely.

Interchangeable son. Totally interchangeable.
