Just watched the british guy in Wuhan who does the youtube videos and I tell you that's some freaky sh*t that's going on over there. His last live stream from today showed roads with literally zero cars on there. Supermarkets that are empty. Its end of the world type stuff and very surreal. This is a massive city and when you are riding a moped down a 4 lane highway with no one else on it I think that tells you just how bad the situation is right now over there. I think it was actually filmed about a week ago.
He then did another video actually today uploaded not long after the above saying things are getting bad and food is running out. They are being told the only way to get food is to call a number and the prices are 5x normal. He said they are restricted now and cant move outside their neighbourhood at all or they will be arrested.

HK had a far better (ie more accurate) data set of numbers of people infected/recovered/dead for sars so using those numbers was reasonable then. The current 'recovered' numbers are for all manner of reasons clearly going to be very badly off the actual numbers, nonsense in, nonsense out - that's always been the case for statistics. No one with any sense at all will be using the numbers for dead/recovered 'as is' without some kind of qualified adjustment.

Did he say food was running out? He certainly said they have to order by phone or online and get it delivered to the main gate but I don’t think he said they were running out (I watched it yesterday so might be wrong). He’s confined - the complex is huge though with loads of outside space. Scary.
I agree it’s not business as usual though for sure.
