Coronavirus - Is this the killer flu that will wipe us out?

What definition of airborne are they using/assuming - drifting some distance in the wind or cough and it’s airborne until it hits the floor?
I saw an experiment showing the airflow around a large room of a strong uncovered sneeze. It travelled all around the room before eventually dissipating, bouncing off walls and changing direction. So I’m not a tin foil hat type, but I have to say I’m now really scared.
This has now affected us personally.
My sons school is one of the schools on enforced self quarantine.
They spent the last week in Northern ITALY for a school skiing trip.
Now 47 students and 12 staff have been forced in to two weeks of self quarantine.
I have to say I am now very very worried.

Oh st that really brings it home, anyone got any symptoms? Just have to self isolate and ride out the storm, hopefully all will be ok! Are you Middlesbrough or else where? This has now affected us personally.

It can also be transferred through contact with poop so a deadly fart could indeed be a truly deadly fart.nigelpugh7 said:

Nope just a small senior school in the south of birmingam, actually Bromsgrove area.Worrying thing is two of the PE teachers from the Italian ski trip have signs of fever, but went back to school today but have been sent home to self quarantine.
This is really really scary now.

Does that mean the teachers didn’t follow the advice, or maybe didn’t hear it in time before they left home this morning?

If they suddenly die as previously healthy adults, then yeah I’d agree.
I have a horrible cough and cold which has come on today. No fever though. Who knows - could be coronavirus easily id imagine. Not been abroad but have been around people who have.
Literally no one is doing anything different in the UK yet. We have no chance at containment. I was in a couple of large service stations today. Restaurants full, people using communal tables etc etc etc.
The general public don’t seem to give a toss yet
I honestly can’t bring myself to be scared yet.
The immigration queue was huge for us as european passport holders, but nothing compared to the others, ie Easterners etc.
We were right next to them, but 90% of them had face masks on.
Our queue was mental, took maybe over an hour and a half.
The back up was mental, perhaps 1000+ people.

Why would the PE teachers come into school with a fever, just back from Italy. Haven’t they been reading the news?Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
