Only in so far as anyone with vaguely centre/left leanings(from a UK standpoint) is viewed as a socialist, or more likely a raging commie!
What is Trump's bailout for the farmers but socialism? As Sanders said ,"Trump is a socialist for the billionaires, I am a socialist for the people"
Trump negotiated (phase 1 China deal) a $32 billion purchase Chinese purchase of U.S. Farm exports. Additionally, China has agreed to purchase $50 billion in farm equipment, the farmers were aiming for $20 billion. That is not socialism. The money given to them to float while the tariffs were in effect is programmatic. If that is what Bernie calls socialism, so be it.

Sanders pretty much only wants what Europe already has, education, healthcare, equality, decent minimum wage etc.

This is really easy to spin as communism in the USA though to the poorly educated right wing trump supporting crowd
So, the roughly half of America that voted Trump are poorly educated?

Is it possible that Europe has so long had things that effect their everyday lives run by government that that is now the norm? All things are relative. I submit that we are not “behind” insomuch as we are “different”. Our national DNA, one that led us to run from you guys for example, may have us wanting less government tending to our needs. Just food for thought. smile

Looks like Trump has at least one fan in the Democratic Party, Democratic Senator Manchin, who might back trump over Sanders :

We will begin to see Bloomberg rise in the polls imo. The upcoming Super Tuesday primary votes will give us a better picture. There are two Mikes. One is the Mayor that lowered crime in New York and made the environment business friendly. The new Mike is on the trail apologizing for doing what caused both those positive develop. Is he doing that to garner the black vote and not really changing his tune or is he going to be “new Mike”. More to come.

Well there is that. I am sure as this goes on, other “Mikes” will emerge as well.

I have to disagree the tapes are devastating but even more devastating is the fact that Bloomberg took three bites at denying workers a (we're talking about security guards janitors etc) living wage, the bill got passed then Bloomberg veto'd it so then the bill was re passed to get around his veto at which point he sued the city to try & kill the bill that failed so when he was leaving & the bill was about to be implemented in 2013 he decide to sue the city again to kill the bill to make sure these people would be denied a living wage of $10 an hour.

Those are political land mines that he won't get around & that's before we talk about his actions with the central park 5, stop & frisk which means that by the time super Tuesday Bloomberg will have let so much political blood the medics will be calling it & he'll be out.

$350m dollars spent already by Bloomberg.

at this sort of scale you need to wonder whether it’s better to simply give the money away.

I hope you are correct. However, the large center of the party craves electability/beat Trump more than idealism, even if their candidate is Trump-like in some ways.

He also has garnered endorsements from many prominent black leaders. Most blacks vote for who these people suggest. That sounds offensive perhaps but it is true. We will get a hint of how it will go on Super Tuesday.

The link below suggests that, on average, the people voting for Trump were less well-educated than those voting for HRC.

Going by his actions when he was mayor he's Trumps distant cousin.

They may back him as they don't know the facts but as this blood letting begins just watch them take away said endorsements.

There is a valid argument that “better educated” is not always an indicator of ones ability to make a wise choice. Having a degree ending in “ology” does not always help. Not all educated people are smart that is for damn sure. In today’s higher education environment, especially in the liberal arts arena, Professors or often actually little more than activists that shove their personal opinions as the only fact.

Perhaps but don’t count on it. Those “black leaders” crave power, they are not, as a whole, interested in the fate of the black population. If the black population found themselves satisfied, these leaders would lose their influence. Still, the “experts” continue to give Mike low chances. I am Leary of that myself.
