bit off topic- but how do super injunctions actually work?

I mean I’m the editor of ‘newspaper XYZ’- how do I check what I’m allowed and not allowed to write about? There’s obviously not a list of super injunctions to tell me what I’m not allowed to write about.
I suspect there probably is, for exactly that reason. When a court grants it they must make it known to relevant parties (i.e. the press) or else how would they know not to write about it?

That's presumably how it appears that the media know but can't tell. But if it's anyone famous and anything vaguely salacious word is going to drip out. Giggs, the guy from Downton Abbey, Sturgeon..?

I had a wee Google earlier and a location came up which have popped up in this thread already, plus a couple of other pieces of the alleged jigsaw . And it seems the rumours are several years old, yet only coming to real light now.

I'm sure I read today, and also remember from the Giggs one that injunctions are only valid in the UK, i.e that overseas agencies can do what they like. Maybe Sturgeon isn't as big a fish as she likes to think...

This is the point where people start talking about totally unconnected things to bide the time, like films set in Marseille starring Gene Hackman, and popular models of car manufactured by Ford UK from 1951 to 1962, later revived for a model produced by Ford in both Britain and Germany from 1972 to 1975.
So is the answer to that The French Connection Consul?

Could it be something about the SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has accused Whitehall of "dirty tricks" after a report emerged claiming she told a French diplomat she would prefer David Cameron in Downing Street over Ed Miliband.

The Daily Telegraph published on its website a transcript of what it says is an official British government memorandum which includes details of a private meeting between Ms Sturgeon and Sylvie Bermann, the French Ambassador to the UK.

The French consul general in Edinburgh, Pierre-Alain Coffinier, whose comments are claimed to have been the basis for the leaked memo, has told the BBC Ms Sturgeon did not express any preference for a leader.

As someone who despises what the SNP are doing to "the People of Scotland" (Whom they do not represent a majority !) I can't wait to see what skeletons are coming "out of the closet" so to speak. Perhaps Mr/Ms/Miss/Mrs Sturgeon has got her comeuppance coming.

A Frenchwoman you say? Meeting with Sturgeon?

Twitter has some gossip about that sort of set of circumstances...

i can't believe that, given her and her husband have been together so long and have so much in common.

Just saw a piece on Facebook from the National, with the paywall lifted "as it was so important everyone should be able to read it". All about Cherry v Robertson, how it's a failure of leadership and how they shouldn't be fighting it out in public as it will harm the cause, especially with 'the trial' coming up.

The panic is real.

The SNP have managed to do a deal with the Greens to pass their budget....one of the concessions extracted by the Greens is a "review" of the planned upgrade to the Sheriffhall roundabout; the Green Party apparently don't like it and think the money could be better spent elsewhere. I really do despair. Whilst the much-needed upgrade to Sheriffhall is only part of the solution to deal with the ever-increasing housing growth (as a result of the Scottish Government's own planning policy), it would have at least been a start...

A Damascene moment if ever there was one! Of course it's a failure of leadership - happens to all parties, but the Nationalists think politics started the day they became interested in it.

Ultimately though this is just the last vestiges of that 'different kind of politics' bullst being exposed for the sham it was.

A colleague in work claims his aunt is high up in the SNP, and that this is the week that the bombshell about Sturgeon's marriage and personal life will be dropped.

I have no idea if he is trustworthy enough, but he told me who aunt is by name (I wont repeat), and given who it is it would be easily verified, so I don't know why he'd lie. I'll happy stir the pot though.

Interesting you call it "the much-needed upgrade to Sheriffhall" and I'm not saying it's not needed (far from it) but when Sheriffhall was built they said then it coudn't be a flyover because of the geological instability of the land and the many mineworks there. So what's changed? How/why are we now hearing about solutions? I know the new town Shawfair will only increase the problem at Sherrifhall but it's not clear to me why we can now build a flyover?

The SNP and greens in Glasgow have balanced their budget by closing the outdoor centre at Blairvadach; that will help kids grow up healthy and with an appreciation of exercise and outdoor pursuits.

Better grouting techniques? Auchenkilns was a similar situation, but that was solved, albeit after an initial ramp collapse and the Borders Rail line added a diveunder just east of Sheriffhall. Maybe it won't be a flyover and will be a tunnel similar to the railway?

I think when they said it couldn't be done, it was more about the costs of doing the work; you can solve most civil engineering problems if you have the budget; here is the link to the proposal -

https://www.transport.gov.scot/media/46549/a720-sh...

It's not just Shawfair that will have a massive impact on Sheriffhall, all the growth in East Lothian (10k houses over the next ten years) was predicated on the the East Coast Mainline and the A1, which obviously feeds into the city bypass at Old Craighall, a junction that should also be grade separated.
