Although Sean was a member of the SNP - he loved Scotland so much - as soon as he could he buggered off out of it - and said he said he might visit sometime.
Exactly that. Connery at least limited his hypocrisy to speaking maybe once or twice about Scottish independence while living abroad yet maintaining British citizenship, unlike Brian Cox, Alan Cummings and Ewan McGregor.

Wee Nippy got her 3 minutes on the telly - (because she needs more airtime) praising Sean.
Can't say I wouldn't do the same tbh. Unless this is his north queensferry pad
Salmond's great missed opportunity. Independence based on immediate merger with Greece, guaranteeing EU membership and Sun. Rotating skeleton crew left behind to keep the hotels, tourist attractions, distilleries and oil rigs pumping.

All any Scot wants is sun and warmth. Give them that and they'll follow you into the Darien Gap.

What will Sturgeon do in response to England’s nationwide lockdown? She’s normally creaming in her pants at the prospect of outdoing the restrictions in England & Wales so I wonder if she now puts the whole country in tier 4? She said on Twitter today that she won’t change course but with the likes of Prof Sridhar in her ear I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a u-turn.

That makes no sense what so ever.

I’d post a copy of the note she has put out tonight, but there isn’t much point because more folk on here wouldn’t actually read it, and simply confirm their preconceived views. In summary, the note says the plan in Scotland stays the same.

Oh dear. It would seem the architects of the new "Plan B" to essentially declare the forthcoming Holyrood election as a proxy for an independence referendum, have had their proposal shot down in flames by the internal SNP machine.

Article said:
An SNP councillor has said a debate at the party conference on a so-called ‘plan B’ for delivering independence has been blocked.

Chris McEleny, who backs an alternative strategy, said he was “bitterly disappointed” at the decision.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon ’s independence strategy is based on securing a joint agreement with the UK Government on a referendum.
Mr McEleny is definitely on the radical fringe of the party, and has not been an emphatic endorser of the present 'leadership', nor indeed has Angus Brenda the schoolgirl chaser. Where do the SNP find these cretins?

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/indepe...
Mr McEleny is a bit of a junior Spart, he fancies that the way to an independent life of reilly is to enact protectionist law and not bother with pesky competition with 'furrin' companies in 'that England'.

Never one to miss an opportunity, of course Sturgeon will leave things as they are until the first review of the tiers is due (which IIRC is basically as soon as political expediency the data means that they should).

In the meantime this gives her an excuse to impose travel bans to and from England - Sean Clarkin's head will explode at the excitement.

She's been ominously quiet today....

I wonder if she doesn't get her way to use the furlough money as she sees fit at a later time whether she will move everyone to level 4? Politically difficult given her pronouncements last week. Moreover, it looks like she would be doing as she was told by London.

Interesting to see how this plays out.

Been thinking exactly the same. The 'more caring, more sharing' Sturgeon is about to be left very exposed.

Yes, for once I think she might have to make a choice that is actually damaging politically either way...

It's okay, her loyal footsoldiers are already warming up the "it's aw England's fault" schtick, at the ending of furlough. According to the SNP we need to keep dishing out free money forevermore.

Sorts quite alright for Johnson to preform a (warranted) screeching Uturn based on the data but not Sturgeon. OK, that’s fine then.

By the sound of it England has put in place a travel ban, so Scotland won’t need to.

I believe he was a supporter at one point, (Not sure about ongoing "indypendunce" then again so was I (sorry, I was young and stupid). They have utterly hijacked his death to meet their own ends. A bit sad to be honest. (Don't let them know he was in the Royal Navy, they will implode smile)

He did a party political broadcast for the SNP ( not his greatest work ) and was a long term member/ supporter.

Very misleading tweet that doesn’t appear to reflect the article.

We've now got three weeks until Greater Glasgow & Clyde health board runs out of ICU beds according to government forecasts, tier three starts today and it's essentially "no change" compared to existing Central Belt restrictions; the virus appears to have a 2-3 week cycle (infection > incubation > symptoms) so change would need to come this week to alter the path of the infection in time. The SG could apply tier 4 nationwide and bring us in to line with English restrictions that are supposed to come into force on Thursday allowing furlough scheme extension until 2nd December at the earliest: do they start it on Thursday in line with England?
