Riiiiiight. One man's government forecast is another man's political pish.
I'm not confirming or denying the veracity of that statement, that's the situation the government claims we're in as written in the statement published regarding the tiers linked in this thread last week.alangla said:
Anyone want a laugh? Page 5 of this document - https://www.gov.scot/binaries/content/documents/go... has the qualifying criteria and eventual tier categories for each local authority in Scotland. Have a read & try to figure out why North & South Lanarkshire are tier 3 & Aberdeen & Shire are Tier 2...

It was also acknowledged that forecast bed occupancy for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde indicates a potential shortage of overall beds within 6 weeks and ICU beds within 4 weeks.
Whose "political pish" it is is irrelevant, the government is telling us this is the situation we're in.J6542 said:
The numbers are levelling off because the schools have been off for 2 weeks.
Hospitality sector was shut down 'co-incidentally' over the two-week period half-term holidays were occurring around Scotland to boost the narrative that socialising was the root cause of the spread.
Expect cases to 'inexpilicably' start to creep up again in the next week or so despite hospitality still being on the naughty step, which will now handily be the perfect excuse to put everyone into tier 4 to release all that lovely furlough cash (yet, keeping schools open to ensure that the numbers don't diminish too quickly).

Also, looks like Glasgow Royal Infirmary are doing their bit to help Covid spread by putting CV+ patients in open wards with others https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54748252
In some parts of England up to 25% of hospital “admissions” each day are people who were in hospital for something else & caught it there. Wonder what the figures in various parts of Scotland are? https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/the-ongoing-problem-...

Really highlights how out of touch they are with rural Scotland. Some genuine anger about the proposals from friends and family here in Aberdeenshire. Another nanny state SNP policy aimed at central belt scumbags interfering unnecessarily with the lives of the rest of us.

Legal travel bans under consideration apparently.
After that it will be supermarket alcohol restrictions followed by full prohibition.
Ever feel like you've fallen asleep and woken up in Cold War USSR?
Need to find that still and start peeling potatoes.
Yup - look forward to checkpoint Charlie being installed on the roads and manned by the equivalent of Dad's Army. After that it will be supermarket alcohol restrictions followed by full prohibition.

How are they going to enforce it if you are going to work?
How are they going to force it on public transport. Maybe they should just ban ticket sales from one local authority to the next.
They are completely and utterly mad. Having given them a taste of this sort of micro-management you can be sure there will be years of similar nonsense post pandemic.

2021 is going to make 2020 look like a walk in the park when we deal with the economic wreckage associated with this nightmare.

I'm in an Edinburgh council estate and they're a fking nightmare. Getting launched into stairways, shops, thrown at people etc not to mention getting set of at all times of day and night from start of October to mid November.

Wee Pishtart was on Twitter trying to spin the two vote losses as a Tory plot against the SNP - the Nationalist grasp on democracy really has evaporated. On another note - SNP party central went on record stating (accurately) that the votes were not binding. That does of course mean that their gerrymandered indyref 2 'mandate' vote is also non-binding......

SNP Health Secretary Jeane Freeman argued the focus should be on dealing with the pandemic, well of course she wouldwouldn't she, I mean why on earth would she want the focus to be on her and Sturgeons decision to send positive covid
patients straight into care homes?
