Caroline Flack
Discussion

It's an interesting one with Leigh Francis, as Bo Selecta was as far as 'be kind' as possible, some of it was downright nasty (I was a big fan BTW) but then we get into the whole what comedy is acceptable debate which I don't think is for this thread.
I had a similar discussion with the wife the other day. At what point does "bants" become trolling/ bullying? As already said Flack would have received plenty of joking grief over the years on Celeb Juice and other things but its funny then but when a teen mag makes the same comments about her its awful.RB Will said:

However as I say I think watching Bo Selecta back after 15 or so years some of it is pretty nasty and im not sure it would go down so well in today’s environment

There is a difference between the Celeb juice ‘bantz’ and that teen magazine though, context is everything, Caroline Flack will have gone on that show knowing full well that (her friend) Leigh Francis will be taking the mick, that teen mag was just downright nasty.

It would be safe to say Craig David wasn't a fan of "Bo Selecta" I bet weve all joked around with our friends and said stuff to them that you wouldn’t dream about saying about someone you do not know.

Lol no I bet he wasn't. Craig David never really did much after that IIRC ? It took a long time for him to re-invent himself which is a shame. He one of the biggest pop stars in the UK and it all went because 1 prick was taking the pissRB Will said:

I hate the word ''banter' its just a cop out for people for being C U Next TuesdayS . When a joke goes too far they go 'it was just banter' it wasn't though was it you was being a prick and no one laughed so you're not trying to back track

To be fair the Craig David character was pretty tame compared to some of the others

Although he made an appearance himself on the programme (as the pseudo-fictional "Craig Davis"),[51] he regretted it. However, he has also denied that his career had been ruined as a result of the show, and has said that he was satisfied with his musical output over the years.[52][53]
In a 2015 interview with the Daily Mirror, David stated that he had no hard feelings towards Francis, explaining how he had seen him at a wedding and given him a hug, assuring him they were "cool". He further explained in the interview that it was his PR team who suggested that he "play hurt" by the caricature.[54] He reiterated this stance on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016 and explained that, contrary to popular belief, he had not fled the UK to escape negative attention brought about from the show.[55]
There's probably more to the reason why his career went a bit off piste than Bo Selecta, just like ( to drag it back OT) I'd hazard a guess there's more reasons as to why Caroline Flack sadly took her own life than Social Media and the Press.

I think people try and use it as a cop out when really, they've crossed the line at which it stops being "banter" at the point at which it goes "too far"it wasn't though was it you was being a prick and no one laughed so you're not trying to back track
Naturally though, some people are clearly incapable of demonstrating where that limit is.

Depending on what newspaper report you choose you'll see different quotes attributed to Craig David to the effect Bo Selecta had on his career.

Craig David was very popular at his peak. His big album sold 1.9m copies in the UK. His 2016 album sold 115,000.

Even bad publicity is better than none. I am sure it did him no harm. Depending on what newspaper report you choose you'll see different quotes attributed to Craig David to the effect Bo Selecta had on his career.
Unfortunately he is still singing

Album sales were a thing in 2000, not so much in 2016; spotify or apple music statistics might be more informative, but I've failed to find such things via google.Depending on what newspaper report you choose you'll see different quotes attributed to Craig David to the effect Bo Selecta had on his career.

Lewis Capaldi had the highest selling album of 2019. He's accredited as selling 641,000 albums. 250,000 were physical albums.

Flack's case is another example of what happens if you live in a land of make-believe, where nothing is real and everything is not as it appears. Sad for her family but no loss to the world as a whole.
Re Gemma Collins, as someone who worked in the car trade, surely she of all people should know the basics of VAT? HMRC can be a bunch of lying extortionists (as I can attest from bitter personal experience), but ugly job as it may be, someone's got to do it and if you're not even trying to comply with the rules...
