If the economy is doing so amazingly well why has the deficit gone up by $3 trillion?

How’s he getting on with making Mexico pay for the Wall, or locking Hillary up?
I don’t know to be honest. Not really high on my concerns list. The wall is being built and Hillary is irrelevant. Is that your focus now?
I for one like to focus on the economy, unemployment, trade deals, and the stock market.
Hillary should be irrelevant, so why is it that trump and many of his supporters are still completely obsessed with her?

Has the Mexican wall cheque arrived?

Not really. I knew it was bolleaux back in 2016 when his acolytes were chanting it. It appears I was right.

Given that the vast majority of illegal immigrants to the US arrive by airplane the Wall was a stupid idea in the first place but (as you keep implying) it’s not OUR tax dollars being pissed up the Wall.
There you go, it is not; therefore it should be less of a concern for you than it apparently is.

It is doing very well. Your economy on the other hand...you may want to turn your energies inward, make sure your lot stands tough in the EU negotiations.

Squirrel. Again.

So if the US economy is doing so well, why has the deficit exploded?

I cant help it. I have a visceral loathing of bullies. Trump is the epitome of a bully; scared of people like Putin and KJU (ie people happy to publicly tell him to fk off), brave enough to whale on people who wont respond in kind.

If one looks at how much better off we will be with the renegotiated NAFTA and the millions we are saving by having Mexico hold illegals coming this way on their side as opposed to ours, yes; in a way they really are paying for the wall. BTW, when that “hold them on your side” was negotiated, Mexico suddenly has a lesser opinion of those passing through their country than they do previously. Go figure.

You didnt really answer the question.....quelle surprise!

The EU thing is a bit frustrating. I always thought Leaving was a stupid idea but we are where we are. It could be worse though; our elected Leader hasn’t been called a Moron by most of those closest to him, including military veterans who hav served their country. Surely that must make you cringe, even a little?

The deficit rose three times that under Obama but you all think he was Christ’s right hand. Give it a rest. You keep jumping from one detail to another, like a whack-a-mole game. the economy is doing well by most all expert accounts. That is not you. Pay heed to your own economy, it has problems that should concern you a bit more.

As I’ve stated multiple times, I do not like his behavior, I like his job as POTUS.

And, as you keep ignoring, the economic situation inherited by Obama was a million miles away from that inherited by Trump. The fact of the matter is that tax cuts have to be paid for, and your kids/grandkids can try and repay the deficit whilst the ones benefitting from the tax cuts will set up Trust funds for their descendants. No wonder Bernie has so much support!

A totally different set of circumstances as you well know.

Please stop trying to steer it to the UK or elsewhere, we are discussing the US here and I can't see how it is helpful to repeatedly deflect. Presumably, there are threads discussing UK affairs.

Not as much not attending a memorial for the fallen in WW1 because it was raining...

What you've more usually said is that it's of no interest to you to learn about things that show him in a bad light.

Which is just giving him a free pass to carry on acting like an imbecile.

Biggest laugh I’ve had all week.
Jim, not only have you drunk the koolaid you seem to be heavily invested in the factory as well.
This Trump thing really is a cult - amazing that so many people blindly follow an aberration. And a monumentally thick one, at that.

Unrepentant, you are right.

Firstly, it hasn't.
Secondly, are you seriously trying to imply the US economy is not doing well because there is a deficit?

  • this is not an endorsement of Trump. It's not like there isn't enough to criticise Trump for that you need to make stuff up.
