Massive crowds welcome Trump to India, as they recognise a great leader
Oh, who has gone there with trump then?
Remember this a country where the crowds at weddings can lead to hundreds dying in stampedes.

Crowds are not unusual in India. rofl
This video shows empty seats and people leaving as trump rambled.

1000 busses to bring the crowd in is an impressive feat. Wonder where they parked them all?
May be they had a bus to catch...
That is a repeat on a big screen and not while he was talking

trump has said it's all under control. The President ticked though administration efforts to contain the virus, claiming the US had "essentially closed the borders."
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/02/25/politics/corona...

He's crediting himself for containing Coronoavirus in the U.S. by closing off the country to certain areas.

"It's never done before, and I did it early.", according to journalists with trump.

That's one explanation I've heard with no supporting evidence (ie, that the video was replayed - I'm not disputing very clear evidence that there was indeed very large crowds in the stadium during the event).

I would add that the video of the crowds leaving was posted by a BBC news correspondent (if that's worth anything to anyone), who claims the above explanation is false.

Also, in reply to the original video, someone collated a pair of similar of photos together - one from 7 minutes in to Trumps speech, and one from 17 minutes in. The difference between the crowds in the upper deck is quite stark. They all must have gone somewhere.

Clutching at straws?
They had large screens up whilst he was talking, same for most large stadiums.

However, he struggled to pronounce several Indian words - from Ahmedabad, the city where he was speaking, to Swami Vivekananda, an Indian philosopher, greatly admired by Mr Modi. He also called the Vedas - ancient Hindu texts - "Vestas".

He ended his speech by saying: "God bless India, God bless the United States of America - we love you, we love you very much." He spoke after Mr Modi, and crowds began leaving mid-way through the US president's speech.

I think it is splitting hairs, if our Boris manages to get a crowd that even half fills that stadium it would be mission accomplished. The crowd Trump drew was pretty incredible, credit where its due, in the U.K our lot bolts to beat the traffic even in stadiums half that size, just ask West Ham fans smile

Hardly. There's no disputing the crowd size as their PM spoke first. There's no disputing the crowd left whilst trump was speaking, the BBC reported it, video evidence supporting that reporting. trump went there for the crowd size optic, not what he wanted.

Seems he was watching Fox news again, even when overseas.

The president demanded two justices recuse on matters related to him and misrepresented what one said.

President Trump lashed out at two liberal Supreme Court justices on Tuesday, escalating his battle with the judicial system to new heights despite entreaties by his attorney general to refrain from Twitter blasts that complicate the administration’s legal fights.

Weighing in on a domestic matter before embarking on a day of ceremony and meetings in India, Mr. Trump seized on an opinion by Justice Sonia Sotomayor and a years-old comment by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to demand that the two Democratic-appointed jurists recuse themselves from any cases involving him.

“‘Sotomayor accuses GOP appointed Justices of being biased in favor of Trump,’” he wrote on Twitter, citing Laura Ingraham of Fox News. “This is a terrible thing to say. Trying to ‘shame’ some into voting her way? She never criticized Justice Ginsberg when she called me a ‘faker’. Both should recuse themselves on all Trump, or Trump related, matters!”

“While ‘elections have consequences,’” he added, “I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!”

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/25/us/politics/tru...

Of course, none of that has any relation to the fact the Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether President Trump can block the release of his financial records.

Nothing about Clarence Thomas whose wife is involved in the purge of staff considered 'disloyal' to trump
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/24/us/politics/tru...

Sotomayor actually said: “Claiming one emergency after another, the government has recently sought stays in an unprecedented number of cases, demanding immediate attention and consuming limited court resources in each,” she wrote. “And with each successive application, of course, its cries of urgency ring increasingly hollow.”

trump during news conference in India, explains that he thinks Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg should recuse herself from cases involving him because she didn't support him in 2016. He also calls on Justice Sotomayor to recuse herself for an unspecified "inappropriate" statement.

Says about Ginsberg “She went wild during the campaign when I was running”

Well she called him a faker then

Hardly a good source...

Every argument I've had about healthcare in the US has always been about the cost, how people don't want to pay for others, and how they believe the stories that the NHS doesn't work.
Mind you the same people say that large areas of London are no go areas for the police because of Sharia law...
Article aside guys, did you see the Gruber video attached to it? That was plain enough to see. The point being made last night was distrust in government run care. That video was a good example.

It was more as a response to "I have no idea as I (nor you) know how he really is. Forced to guess, I would suspect he is a severe dick.."

Based on anecdotal evidence, it appears that if you are on the periphery then he has an attractive personality to some people and he knows how to use that. I would say as a positive for him that he's a gifted communicator, can turn on the charm, which is why people like him, why he's managed to get loans and deals, why he knows exactly what to say to his base, you've only got to see his rallys to understand that.

Again based on anecdotal evidence, it seems that when you get close, you find out his real personality...
I understand that. Thank you. You could be correct, and again, I am pretty sure all world leaders or similar types have that trait to an extent.

That question leads to this really; Trump applied for a job and we hired him. Who he hires as help or how hard he makes that on himself is his problem, we hired him, he is the CEO and must worry with that. Now, come 3 November, if we are satisfied with his work we will either extend his contract or fire him. His personality or how he is to work with isn’t mine or other voters’ concern in most cases because we don’t work for him. We hired him to look out for our national interests, that is all.
It would seem that this thread is actually critiquing the direction in which we the voters decide to go as opposed to just discussing Trump as that has surely been done to death. Because it is evident that a “truth in advertising” assessment shows this is not a Trump discussion thread but a Trump (or Trump voter) bashing thread.
All IMO of course.

Tell, you what: if we agree that he lied, if we condemn that, and any equivalent lies by any of the current Democrat presidential candidates...

... then, finally, will you talk about and condemn Trump's lies?

The current one has been designated a SARS type virus. Not the common cold.

I’m not massively concerned about it at the moment but I don’t think it is sensible to suggest to people it is just like a common cold.

We may disagree on what Trump
Lies are. If there were one we do agree upon, then yes, I will condemn them. Depending on if they are ones that effect National interests, as opposed to lower level things, they will be given various levels of concern. Again, all politicians lie, are corrupt, and self serve to various extents imo. Therefore, if he/she looks out for our national interests in a way that we think is correct and best for us, that is what matters more.
