I hear/read this a lot. "Why didn't he testify?"If only there was some sort of investigation he could have testified at...

But frankly, although it would have been the right thing to do, it would have made absolutely no difference, the Senate would simply have ignored it, possibly even blocked it somehow. At least this way he has dealt a genuine blow to Trump and reduced his chances of reelection. Ideally I would rather that he had done it in a couple of months time. I'm genuinely worried that by November Covid will be a distant memory, Bolton's book will have been forgotten and about a week before the election someone in the FBI will announce they are reopening an investigation into Biden.......

You're right about the Bolton book, plenty of PDF downloads now if you look. You don't get a feeling of rooting for the supposed Hero...
Can someone provide one that works please? The ones linked earlier come back as 'no connection' and 'document doesn't exist' when I try to download to Google drive.

So Berman, was was he investigating about Guliani that Barr had to quickly shut down that investigation? There's testimony to the house next week. Berman should be included

The president has doubled down on his fixer’s obstruction of investigations into him and his allies. It is clear that nothing will restrain his corruption.

Mr. Berman was appointed by U.S. District Court Judges. The Attorney General does not have the authority to expel him. It is clear that the law still means nothing to this president or his new fixer, William Barr.
Remember trump said yesterday he knew nothing about it... playing the deny everything game again

If my reading is correct, only the President can sack Berman, based on a 1979 legal opinion. However, it is a little more murky as his confirmation of appointment was court appointed, which makes it less clear. Rep. Val Demings

One thing is clear, the Attorney General cannot fire a court appointed Attorney. so Barr, is clearly ultra vires.
I've read a few reports, but a really good article on it here...
