The incentive is "If you buy a veggie meal the Company will reimburse the cost". You seem to be thinking that meal allowances are compulsory/mandatory. They're not, there is NO requirement for companies to pay subsistence allowances, or mileage allowances, or any other allowances.
If their policy was "If you buy a meal the Company will reimburse the cost" and it is now "If you buy a veggie meal the Company will reimburse the cost", that is not an incentive, it's a disincentive.

An incentive would be to allow veggie meals a higher £ allowance

I rather suspect you wouldn’t be a cultural ‘fit’ for such a company anyway.

As to your suggested ‘revenge’ expense claim - whatever floats your boat!
But that's half the problem.

People are being hired based on things that have no bearing on their ability to do their job. Vegan hires a Vegan . So you end up with a dystopic view of the world because the view of those round the table is not representative of the real world .

And while its fine to say ' well if everyone is represented, it has to be better', you can see companies full of yoghurt knitters springing up all over the place, and anyone who voices any kind of dissent is considered to be 'off message'.

So companies openly forcing an EV only policy on employee's , when EV sales are 2% of the market isn't really on is it, same as the ' we must all use the bus '.. which is actually 'you must all use the bus , because I have a space reserved in the executive car park.

And you are right, I have worked with this type of st , and left as a result, because it breeds discontent, and resentment. What once was a company that was on the right track, turns into a place full of Man Buns,Hipster beards and comfortable shoes, and from then on , its nepotism central .

If you want eat smashed avocado on toast for breakfast , have at it , but not at the expense of my bacon roll.
The more a company brings in policies that are, at best, tenuously related to their core operations the more they'll lose sight of what they're supposed to be doing.

No,luckily.

Our industry relies on people who know what they are doing. Its far too 'off trend' for that demographic.

Are you like the only person that knows how the Cobol system works that runs the one thing no one cares about, but they cant find anyone else wanting to do the job?

That's half true.. nobody cares about it but they all rely on folk like us to stop stuff dropping out of the sky... when it does , its our doors they come kicking down, not the bloke with a man bun and a spread sheet who had a spreadsheet that said we don't need to check it.
