Hi All,

After 30 years of dreaming I finally picked up my first ever Aston Martin yesterday. It's a 2007 Vantage V8 and all I have to say is that it was worth the wait. 250 mile drive home and I still haven't stopped grinning. Pics will follow..!!

Anyway, my first question if I may. I have two working keys but only one alarm fob. I've done a search about obtaining a second fob but most of the links are about getting a second key and fob. I just need the Volvo based alarm fob. Is it a case of buying a blank (I assume cheapest from Volvo) and having a local Aston specialist add it to the car or can I do it myself?

Thanks..Ralph

Ralph

You can buy a fob from ebay or Volvo (I did) but you need it to have the codes with it

Then you can transfer the insides into an AM key (also from ebaY) and get your AM dealer to program it

If they like you it will be gratis, if they dont it will cost something - not sure how much guess it depends on where you are

and congrats on the car - they are fantastic (my first was an 07 manual V8 and it was just a great car

keep smiling every time you walk into the garage to look at it

look forward to seeing the pics
