Yeah more take up of EVs, until the fuel duty on electricity is ramped up to current levels of petrol/diesel I.e. 57p+ And some tax per miles policy. Everyone will be paying more to use their fridge. hehe
Happening in Norway. Large move to EV's where bridges, ferries, charging, road tax, tolls etc were free for EV's. BEV's are even VAT free. Govt loses a heap of dosh..um, eh, we'll have to reconsider...

I think everyone will be paying more for using their fridge too.

Just abut everything that we use in every day life is moved about the country by using fossil fuels. In the old days it seemed that every time there was a fuel price hike, the price of everything else followed accordingly.
Inflation has been faiirly level, for some time now, and it is possible that part of the reason for this, has been the relatively low rise in fuel prices over the past few years.
Once the fuel tax/price freeze is removed, we might expect the price of everything to start going up, because just about everything is moved around the country, using fuel, much of it being the diesel used in HGV`s.
Looks like we might be back to inflationary ways again. which will be bad for some, and good for some others.
Interesting times lay ahead.

Possibility of scrapping red diesel as well. That will cost farmers quite a bit I'd imagine.

Fuel is cheap at the moment so people will complain but it will have been higher recently, when it goes back up people will really moan.

On another note, had Labour been in power the last few elections I think we'd be at at least £1. 50/ltr now

Absolutely, the one thing labour does not want is the ordinary pleb in the street being able to go where they want, when they want. Under labour, only those with the required chit from the commissariat will be allowed to travel at all, and even then only on the cattle tracks that socialist systems seems to think is the only correct way to move plebs around the country. smile
