We have iirc 2% of children under the age of 15 in hospitals with covid here in the UK with a fairly large outbreak.
...
I think you must mean 2% of those in hospital with covid are under 15...

The White House Trade advisor Peter Navarro did a six minute interview on foxnews Business and in it has stated that bringing back pharma, medical supply chains and manufacturing to the USA will be targeted in the next phase of a $2 trillion stimulus plan :

Incentives to bring manufacturing back will also be considered.

Good plan. US has the expertise, manpower, resources and real estate to achieve this. It would be costly but definitly a viable plan.

It will be interesting to watch the left tie themselves into knots as to why creating bluecollar work at home, revitalising lost industries and securing strategic supply chains is a bad thing.

right now we are getting somewhere.

So Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam have all been influenced by China to report lower death/infection rates. Is that what you are saying?
No those countries are terrified of what China is becoming.

When China told the world they had a new virus no worse than the cold the west believed them... those countries know what the CCP is like so took no notice at all and implemented their own plans.

Well it looks like "we" took the word of the WHO and precedents had been set in previous outbreaks (swine flu and avian flu). When the USA and Australia said they were shutting down incoming flights from China, the screeching about racism started. Meanwhile, Italy was having "hug a Chinese" day. Universities in Australia were dreaming up ways for Chinese students to circumvent travel restrictions into Australia and were even offering money to students who did.

I think the sensible assumption is that for a country the size of China, the fact that the Virus lab is 300 yards or 274 metres from the Wet Market is too much of a coincidence to swallow.
Is the Wuhan War Games in Oct 2019 not too much a coincidence to swallow? wink

I see China is now threatening the UK if it steps "out of line"

Provably not the best idea to invite the Chinese in for critical national infrastructure like nuclear power stations and telecommunications.

Yeh, living in a democracy and holding a state to it's international treaty obligations sucks doesn't it.
