Indeed. Sir Kier was all over the very serious issue of the PM's wallpaper on ITV's evening news a few minutes ago.

Nothing on the main page of ITV news either.

Too busy worrying about Boris not filling in a form, rather than actual hate and racism from Labour.

They'll not have any members left at this rate.

This is literally what we need. Not asking about the "never use by private companies" App which now will be, so business will know your private health data, where youve been, how you shop etc..

Or question why we are still in lockdown.

But wallpaper. And a photo opportunity in a shop TO PROVE IT!

Its just pathetic. It really is.

Indeed; "Look, a squirrel". They say you get the government you deserve, I don't deserve these twunts, but perhaps the gullible, and to a lesser extent those arguing about decorating here, do.

The irony-no matter how bad BJ is, he wins against the shower of st labour is. I think Johnson is a devious, lying politician but I’d never vote labour. Close in Blair’s hey days but a joke for the last 15 years plus

Is anyone else surprised that the guy who came up with the Ed Stone still works for Labour?

It must be the same person who came up with the wallpaper stunt.

All the carp going on in the world and this chap needs an answer about decorating.
To pose looking all stately at wallpaper for the press will no doubt come back to bite him in the future.
Is this the opposition we need?

Feck me, he actually stood in John Lewis holding a roll of wallpaper? How fking childish.

I really really wish we could get someone to get hold of the labour party and drag it from being childish protest politics to an effective opposition and genuine prospect for government. Instead, we get this....

Despite the excitement of some on here that seem to think Boris is getting a thorough kicking, he must be looking across at Starmer and laughing his socks off.

He has made himself look like a bigger tit than I thought was possible.

Why is he giving Boris such an easy ride when he should be holding him to account on serious issues.

It's like he is treating the whole electorate like the lowest common denominator.

And, in other news, I see the Glorius Leader every day on the TV in a hard hat and hi-vis jacket or a lab coat doing exactly the same photo-op thing. Any fker might suppose he didn’t have an important day job to attend to.

To get votes from the 10%? That's the game isn't it? At least I think it was briefly a quarter of a century ago, I suppose things may have changed.

The answer isn't about wallpaper the answer is about allegedly undisclosed loans or political donations.

The allegation is that they're from a Lord and if you think how people become Lords (politicians usually make them Lords) it's quite important to know if they're helping politicians or political parties out financially.

Agreed Starmer shouldn't have done the wallpaper stunt in John Lewis.

GMB had an interview this morning with a Government Minister about the Domestic Abuse Act. Kate Garraway way straight in with the important questions of the day "....so who paid for the PM's wallpaper?"

GMB also had a poll to se if viewers cared about the PM's wallpaper. The answer was the vast majority don't give a crap.

Where is the personal gain for Boris? Its decorating in 10 Downing Street! Its not like he's going to peel the wallpaper off and take it with him when he leaves.

Of course they don't. The poll should be asking "Is it important your PM is honest?".

Let's face it, Starmer and Labour have been more or less irrelevant through this and I don't see how they're going to get any of their momentum back (door left open for 'momentum' pun)?

I don't think that comes into it so far as the rules and possibly laws around disclosure.

The issue is allegedly accepting/borrowing donations/money/loans/whatever and not declaring it.

Respectfully focussing on decorating is not seeing the wood for the trees.

Quite right. The issue is about an apparent undisclosed loan and breaking the rules. It is not about wallpaper. However, after all the frustrating cries of it not being about wallpaper what does the idiot Starmer do - he goes and makes it all about wallpaper thinking it’s will be a good photo opportunity and demonstrate some amount of humour. The No10 team cannot possibly believe their luck - they thought Corbyn was the leader who keeps on giving but Starmer is quickly taking on that mantle. They must be pissing themselves laughing at this.

The problem is that Boris’ detractors completely misunderstand the public mood. They just see yet another go at Boris over something they see as trivial - guy got a loan and has paid it back. That it breaks the rules and is quite serious is, to them, like someone doing 35mph in a 30mph limit - trivial. One look at the ratings shows Boris to be popular and riding high on an extremely successful vaccine roll out programme. The public is more interested in the pandemic as that really does impinge on their day to day life.

The continual raking up of trivial issues also dilutes the serious ones whilst most are focussing on the pandemic, relaxations, getting back to normal etc. This just makes the continual carping boring and ever more trivial in their eyes.
