Reduce virus transmission to what? what is the outcome we are looking for here and when is the time you can say "yep masks are no longer mandatory"?

I've had everything from "until we have a vaccine" to "make it mandatory every flu season to help save more lives"
I don’t know, there must be some point where there isn’t (m)any new cases etc?

Like how we had pubs closed and now they’re open again or quarantines and now loads of exemptions, how we were asked to avoid restaurants but now are being encouraged to go to them etc

These pandemic measures are obviously temporary and the government look to get rid of them as soon as possible.
I don't think that anyone knows and hence I don't support them being made mandatory by legislation and associated punishments until that exit clause can be articulated.

It does, yet the NHS hasn't forgotten that. Hence why they still happy to do minimal work.
Alot of blood already on their hands.

I think the fact they haven't done anything to try to make them mandatory so far and that Gove seems to have gone out of his way to say he doesn't think they should be mandatory is quite telling.

There's a lot of stuff that could have been made law that simply hasn't and has been phrased as "use common sense".

To me that doesn't point towards anything super authoritarian or a restriction of freedoms.

Corona alone, we have the 4th worst death rate, do we have the 4th highest infection rate?

Cancer, screening still well down.

Pregnant women, the exams they have where they do tests, are now phone calls (14 week and 20 week are still face to face women only, not allowed to be there to see it for the first time or find out the sex).

They have put the fear of God into people so they don't go in to get minor issue sorted that become major. Old people especially.

Thats just a couple if the issues, yet silence from the nhs and no fight to sort anything out. Just sit back and let the money roll in. They were very vocal about doctors payrises the other year.

More young children have died from reduced care then from corona, its a disgrace.

A further 15 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England

NHS England said those who died were aged between 72 and 96 years old. One patient, aged 96, had no known underlying health conditions.

No deaths in Scotland or Wales. Northern Ireland has stopped reporting on Coronavirus at weekends.

The UK-wide figures, which cover deaths in all settings, will be released later this afternoon.

So you think if we let COVID run free, the NHS will be under less strain both now and into winter, and better able to provide a more complete service?

Yawn, dumbass is still reading my posts, damn it.

Sensible social distancing was working before the lockdown.

I don’t think for one minute it was working as well as it could/should have.

As I have said before, there are/were too many stupid people that were thinking it didn’t apply to them or wouldn’t affect them.

Unlike you that at the first time of trouble shut up and told all your staff to find new jobs ive never stopped working. Thankfully the world need me more than it needs you.

I think this really unfair on the NHS. If you think it is so bad I assume you have private insurance and will never darken the door of your local NHS doctor, dentist or hospital.

I don't pretend it is perfect but your comments are uncalled for.
I have private insurance, just a shame the NHS has stepped in with them also.

I also paid for a private baby scan so I could be there if it was bad news at the first one.
The NHS cannot adapt, stuck in its ways "protecting" itself.

I see the NHS brainwashing is strong. Look at worldwide infection numbers and death rates and then ask yourself if the NHS has done really well.

Well good for you, you have a choice, as I said earlier I don't pretend the NHS is perfect and can improve but slating it because of something you didn't like when you have a choice seems sour grapes.
