Don't get me wrong 200mph is seriously daft for sure, but looking at how quiet it is and how few vehicles he passed, I can see why he did it. 200mph is an epic speed from a practical family car too.

One other thing on RS6’s is that you need to inflate the tyres for high speeds to prevent blowouts.

I’d be surprised if they did this.....

Also true of most other cars too.

Never really saw the fun in this sort of thing, it's either boring or scary depending on the car and the road.

The only interesting bit was feeling the physics of a very slight bend in an autobahn taken at high speed, and the awareness of the energy involved.

This is what happens when you allow the sale and possession of high powered cars. It brings out the stupid in people.

'See's headline' - 'nervous sweating' - 'looks at video' - Ah it's not mine biggrin

I went over to Germany to do 206mph in my older C6 RS6 where I used a suction camera mount so I could keep both hands on the wheel. I did it at 2am-ish with literally no traffic, and it still took a about 5-6 goes before I got a "clean" run with no-one else on the roads to overtake so I felt "safer" doing it.

TBF my generation older C6 RS6 (C7 in the video) felt completely stable even upto 190mph and it was only as I passed that speed than the road noise started to scare me more than the car starting to feel unstable or anything.

I think it'll be fairly easy for a single officer who has a spare day to go back over tapes and find the guy, thats why I'd never do that in the UK AND post it to YT!

EDIT - It's also a really crap "tune" too, my 740hp RS6 did 0-206mph in just 36 seconds (video on YT). This guy starts at 70-ish and still takes 45+ seconds to hit 200mph - I'd be willing to guess that the car is stock power (maybe the OEM 'performance' 600hp version) but with just the limiter removed.

That’s not the original posting of the video - original video was, apparently, the driver claiming to be driving a “mate’s rs6”

I call BS. The guy was never driving at those speeds.

I reckon he was using UK Rep Simulator or some other PC game.

Even at 201 mph the video quality should have been better than that.

Here is what I get off my PC playing 20 year old Carmageddon.......

Looked real to me, and I am fairly used to high speeds. Hand held video at those speeds is always crap.

Might be quite hard to catch him if he’s been clever.

I can’t see whether date and time visible on the dash. If not, I could been at any time over the last 8 weeks. They’d be able work out rough time of day from the shadows, but that’s still a big period to search, and probably quite a lot of innocent RS6 drivers on random CCTV who’d tell the police to “do one” when asked.

If I was going to do that, I wouldn’t use my phone, I’d scrub the video of date/time/GPS data. I’d downsample it enough to make the details impossible to read, and I’d stick it on the web via 4chan or similar. I’d also get a mate to hold the phone....

Or just do it and not post a video.

Only in 'some' people. Mainly mad ones.

Just looked at the vid again, his hand looks like he's lived around 30 yrs at most. Smooth as a baby's arse.

Be interesting to see who he is when he gets caught. He surely will.

Audis can be v. quick. I breathed a sigh of relief when my car mad son got rid of his highly-modded S4 Quattro.
F. did it go!
I'm car mad too, but speed is not top of the list.
