I'm not imagining anything. You said you knew what Cummings was doing day to day. I asked how you knew, and you couldn't answer, because you don't know. You made it up.

He’s really sounding a bit like he’s losing it now.

Obviously others thought he sounded like that a while ago. hehe

If he did have anything to do with Hancocks departure Javid is probably the worst person to replace him from Dom and Goves pov.
Very shrewd move from Boris on almost every level. Now Brexit is done and dusted there is no reason not to have remainers in top positions.

Is rehiring someone you fired once already, shrewd?

Happen to think Javid is a decent bloke, which tells me he's going to last 5 minutes in this stshow.

No idea on his competency.

Why can’t I help reading that in Trumps voice?

Javid wasn't fired, he resigned.

Yes, Do you think this is a modern thing? Ministers are sacked or resign and are re-hired all the time. amongst other reasons it can be to limit their power, extend the power of the PM. or to show pleasure/ displeasure at their support or lack of or to keep them under control. It can also be used as a snub to people who might have expected to have been offered the job. See Gove for details.

Doesn’t matter. In reality it simple.

Boris’ view

We need someone in the job.

If it all goes bad they need a scapegoat.

Javid’s had a while in wilderness and wants back in - much easier to boss around / manipulate this time

Javid’s view

Didn’t get the influx of job offers I expected after my last resignations

Vaccinations seem to be going well, so will speak mostly about that (the only successful thing that Hancock was involved in)

If I get called our in something bad blame everyone else:

Health - all because of Matt Hancock

Travel - speak to grant shapps

With Cummings intent on attack, rehiring someone who resigned as a result of Cummings could prove to be a good move.

I suspect Cummings has nothing on Javid other than an opinion.

Javid was always sanguine on Brexit. He accepted Remain lost and that the outcome needed to be worked with, I thought that was the right approach and one more in the HoC needed to follow.

Boris to win another election. Javid to take over not long after.

People are allowed to resign all the time rather than being fired.

Are you going to try and spin this so Boris comes out of it looking like its all been to plan (in your mind at least)? Good luck with that.
