That's probably the main reason I won't use twitter - it's full of idiots from both sides who crap out what passes for their thoughts straight out to everybody else without engaging their brains.

The tweet you posted is a fascinating/terrifying insight into one end of the spectrum, the others your mention, to the other end.

I'm just waiting for evidence that this was largely arranged on Facebook closed groups instead of parler. That would be interesting. And quite likely.
Yep, I am not confident enough there yet to actually do any tweets of my own. And who would give a st what I think anyway!?

I do find it useful for getting the absolute latest news on something though, and also there are some very witty twitterers.

The usual suspects went on a bit of a rampage in Seattle on inauguration day/night. Gave the Oregon DNC party HQ there a bit of a redecoration. They call it J20.

after 280+ pages of ‘riot’ it was the defacement of the DNC that has gotten 15 antifa people arrested.

Seeing a lot of this on Twitter:

Wasn't he twenty minutes away by foot or something? The police who look after the place didn't feel the need for extra people. The Sergeant at Arms didn't feel the need for extra security.... https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/lindsey-gr...

There is a school of thought that these things escalate through dumb opportunity and dumb people. Someone leaves a pallet of bricks on the side of a commercial street, a protest march happens to come along there, someone grabs a brick and throws it through a window, someone else sees the opportunity to grab something through the broken glass, someone sees someone getting some stuff for free and off it goes.

So now government is going to keep the national guard on in DC past the impeachment trial. Aren't all the people involved in the Capitol Insurgence now in jail or on no-fly lists or whatever as part of this new War on Terror?

Yep, we discussed this quite a bit a whole ago, but either way, clearly trump was in no danger, having encouraged the riot amongst his own supporters. Looks more and more like GOP was involved, it will be interesting to see in due course the extent of that.

As to your question regarding the people involved in the insurrection, AAUI there are still many to be apprehended as yet.

What is the 'new war on terror' that you speak of?

In a wholly predictable fashion and no surprise to anyone the demoprats now start to voice tough words against far-left rioting under what is now "their watch".
After many demoprats voiced little opposition and indeed some actively supporting the riots whilst the Republicans were in office, the "useful idiots" are now being told by their own side to pipe down now that "the left" are in power.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9186743/W...

I mentioned a few pages ago about what do people think would happen if the far-left continued to riot under the term of the Biden/Haris office, and it must be incredibly embarrassing to see their "own" continue to riot and even be writing "f#ck biden" on the windows of local government offices in Portland.

Wondering now how the likes of CCN could imaginatively twist events to create a narrative that it must be the nazis doing the ongoing rioting dressed up as antifa/blm in disguise.

AIUI the rioters in Portland have wrecked a DNC building. if they're also writing stuff like fk Biden how are they somehow on the Democrats "own side"?

The desperate need to link the Anarchists to Democrats is pathetic. They may well be far-left/anarchsists. The DNC in general is not.

Yet a few months ago we saw demoprat members raising funds to bail said far-left rioters out of jail. (That is support in anyone's book - and given the general lack of condemnation for the actions of the far-left rioting it was one of the hallmark traits of the demoprats whilst the Republicans were in office).

Like I said they [antifa/blm etc] are "useful idiots" for the demoprats but only to the point where they start portraying their own office in a bad light.

It has always been clear that as you point out, the far-left are not in anyway the same type of person that would be in the centre-left where normal political arguments lay. This has been pointed time again by the use of terms such as extremists or radicals etc. But saying that there is no hiding away from the fact that the demoprats supported blm/antifa rioting when it suited them.
Were they so blinded by the prospect of office that they failed to notice the extremism they were supporting? Over to you.

In what alternative universe are these people 'their own'? WTF do they have to do with Biden/democrats?

Younger than you hopefully.
Although I've only been on PH for over a year its clear a bit of name calling is a PH tradition isn't it?

Or am I to be told by some grandads that I'm out of line on this?

Not out of line, just childish. But hey, it’s your call.

Not quite true- some Democrats promoted donations to MFF, who were one of the organisations paying bail for people arrested in Minnesota, but a) these weren't necessarily "rioters"- the vast majority of those detained weren't detailed for rioting or similar public order offenses, b) MFF does a lot more than that besides, and c) they weren't raising funds themselves.

But let's not let truth get in the way of political posturing shall we?

No, of course they weren't. Only the peaceful protestors got arrested, for the offence of ... being peaceful?

But no I agree, lets not allow a good narrative to spoil the truth. wink

A significant outright majority of those arrested were entirely peaceful including member of the press and clergy; most arrests have been for curfew violations rather than for violent actions.
In actuality, the total proportion of those arrested for violence was around 20%, compared to around 60% for curfew violations or ignoring police orders, and 78% for non-violent crimes or misdemeanors generally.

These are the facts.

domestic terrorism.

And, conveniently, the FBI have found pipe bombs around the Capitol Building or something which they say were placed there before the insurrection. Like the pallets of bricks which suddenly appeared on streets which BLM marches would be walking down. The mysterious man smashing windows who got noticed and video recorded... When companies such as Facebook know more about you than you know about yourself you would have to wonder how much organisations such as the FBI, CIA, NSA know - manipulating people is their stock-in-trade.

They've got 200 officers not available for duty at the moment, so not surprising they want to hire a few more.
