Jesus that was terrible.

Trump there to be taken down but Biden found wanting IMHO. If the Democrats had someone with the oratorial skills of George Galloway then Trump wouldn't stand a chance.

Biden very weak I thought, Trump just Trump.

Because only one man was prepared to debate. The other just wanted to bully.
The thing is it's worked for him all of his life, and a significant number of Americans think it's ok.

I didn't watch as it was too late but I've listened to various clips from it this morning.

The problem with dealing with Trump is, do you try and stay dignified and aloof or do you enter into a slug fest with him.

Clinton tried the former in 2016 and it didn't work out. Biden decided that the latter strategy was the best option, even though I am sure it would not come naturally to him. Based on the polls so far, it has probably worked out better for Biden rather than Trump.

Wallace was useless. Indeed, the chairmen/chairwomen of these debates are often rubbish at keeping the candidates in check.

It's really difficult to concentrate when someone is gabbling rubbish over you and you're trying to understand what they're saying at the same time as work out what you're trying to put across yourself. Your brain has to work on several different levels at the same time. Even a Cambridge don would struggle to deal with someone like Trump in a 'debate' because it's never going to be a debate by the definition of that word. It's actually worse than having a klaxon going off while you're trying to speak because you still have to listen to what Trump is saying even though you know 99.9% of it is utter garbage just in case by some miracle he might occasionally throw in something you can tackle. Very difficult for Biden and I doubt anyone could have done better. Even Obama in his most zenlike state would have struggled to deal with this kind of Trump ststorm.

Is there a certain irony to Trumps comment of Biden spending 47 years in politics with nothing to show, whereas Trump has 47+ year in business and nothing to show...apart from huge losses, that is.

For someone who has 47+ years in business of making "huge losses" he looks to be doing pretty well in my opinion.

Do you read/pay attention to anything? Bloke's in the hole for about a billion dollars.

He played a 'successful businessman' on TV. In the real world, he's actually lost more money than pretty much any other single American in history. He lost over a billion dollars over one 10-year period.

Irony being that the expectations of Biden are so low that the mere fact that he got through without having a mental meltdown was hailed as a win by the dems.

And to an extent that makes sense - they are running an anyone but Trump campaign, but if Biden had shown definitive signs of cognitive decline in the debate then it would have sown the seeds of doubt in moderates.

Apparently his campaign staff gave Biden 11 days off in September (no public engagements after 10.30am to make sure he was rested for the debate.

The key word there is 'looks'. How can you not see through such a thin veneer?

I don't think there's much value in reading some of the mainstream media which has its very obvious biases. A billion dollar loss over a 10-year period isn't that much without providing some perspective. That's not even a daily fluctuation for some billionaires lol.

Forbes seem to believe Trump is still a billionaire and I haven't seen anything to dispute the fact that he is at the very least financially comfortable.

You seem pretty entrenched here.

One question for you, why do you think trump has for years refused to release any tax returns, despite repeated promises to do so?

Doesnt Forbes show his net worth having dropped 2b since 2016? If you're going to quote a source, you kinda have to go along with what it states.

Forbes states: "In fact, Trump is a multibillionaire, worth $2.5 billion, by our count. "

Not bad for someone who has apparently got "47+ year in business and nothing to show...apart from huge losses, that is."

The obvious answer to that is that there no upside in it for him.

I have no doubt that like most rich people he is tax efficient so he is paying as little tax as possible.

Revealing that is a stick the democrats will use to beat him with even if it does make the 'he is broke' claims go away.

And they also show that they claim he was worth $4.5B in 2016. Which is quite far away from your claim of 1B in a decade.

And that's one source. You're ignoring all other evidence that doesn't suit your POV.

And thats fine, just admit he's your man, you're his boy, don't try and justify it with BS.

If you look back a page you'll see it was PaulGuitar talking about the billion dollar loss over a decade. I merely referenced it, I didn't claim it.

Do you think a guy that's lost almost half of his net worth in 4 years, while billing the taxpayer millions for Government employees staying at his properties, is a shrewd business man?

He's, by almost all accounts, up to his eyeballs in debt, to the point that he wouldn't even qualify for a security clearance, to banks/individuals/institutions in foreign countries.

Any thoughts on that?

Well done for missing the point. He hasn't been in business. He inherited a business.

We can ALL do well by inheriting a billion dollar business and make huge losses. Some could even make money on it.
