Pointless - we all "are extremely partisan and clearly unwilling to engage objectively." because we provide evidence that he is wrong, believes the lies put around by trump whilst chosing to ignore all wrong doing by trump.

You nailed it when you said they won't even do basic checks, but just blindly believe trumps playbook.

Meanwhile, NBC News confirmed that there are now more than 3,000,000 reported cases of corona virus in the United States.
Texas surpasses 10,000 confirmed new coronavirus cases in a single day for 1st time as record surges continue across US.

As Trump tweeted that the "Death Rate from Coronavirus is down tenfold," , just a few hours before, Dr. Fauci said that it is "a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death."

Tucker Carlson now says masks and social distancing "have no basis of any kind in science. It's like a kind of bizarre health theater"
https://twitter.com/i/status/1280654150955565056

Yet here he is in March praising face masks: "Of course, masks work," he said. "Everyone knows that. Dozens of research papers have proved it. In South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, the rest of Asia -- where coronavirus has been kept under control -- masks were key."
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/03/31...

The University of Washington now projects at least 208,255 will die in the U.S. from the coronavirus by November 1.
But if 95% of the population wears a mask in public, the projected death toll would drop to 162,808. That's more than 45,000 people saved.

But trump has politicised wearing a mask

Copies of Mary Trumps book have now gone to the press.

"Donald's pathologies are so complex and his behaviors so often inexplicable that coming up with an accurate and comprehensive diagnosis would require a full battery of psychological and neuropsychological tests that he'll never sit for,"

"To hedge his bets [Donald] enlisted Joe Shapiro, a smart kid with a reputation for being a good test taker, to take his SATs for him. That was much easier to pull off in the days before photo IDs and computerized records. Donald, who never lacked for funds, paid his buddy well,"

"For some of the Trump kids, lying was a way of life, and for Fred's oldest son, lying was defensive — not simply a way to circumvent his father's disapproval or to avoid punishment, as it was for the others, but a way to survive," Mary Trump wrote. "For Donald, lying was primarily a mode of self-aggrandizement meant to convince other people he was better than he actually was."

Speaking of Tucker Carlson - ""targeted with nativist smears for the second night in a row on Tuesday by Fox News’s Tucker Carlson."
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EcXSY7hWkAAufNs?format...

two night in a row now and the same from trump since it was suggested Duckworth was being considered as Bidens VP

On Tuesday night Mr. Carlson labeled Ms. Duckworth, who was born in Thailand to a Thai mother of Chinese descent and a white American veteran father, and the Somali-born Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota as “vandals” who hate the United States because they have called attention to its historical racism and inequities.

“There are many of us here who do like this country,” Mr. Carlson said, as a graphic on the screen read, “We have to fight to preserve our nation & heritage.”

“We live here,” he said. Then, adopting language used for a century by those aiming to restrict the country to people of Northern and Western European ancestry, he added: “We don’t want to destroy it. We have every right to fight to preserve our nation and our heritage and our culture.”

Remember Paul Erikson, boyfriend of the russian Maria Butina who infiltrated the National Rifle Association, who later went to use significant large russian funds to support trumps election campaign...

you know the one who was kept quiet in jail then quickly sent back to russia...who worked for the Russian government handler, Alexander Torshin, the one who masterminded the laundering Russian money into the NRA, the bit thats still heavily redacted in the Mueller report...

That Paul Erikson who was a longtime Republican fundraiser who worked with his Russian girlfriend to try to build back-channel ties between Moscow and Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

Anyway, Paul Erikson was convicted yesterday of defrauding investors in various schemes over the last 20 years, sentenced to serve seven years in federal prison.
“You’re a thief, and you have betrayed your friends and family, pretty much everyone you know,” Schreier said.

We know trump is leading his wn campaign, backed up by Kushneer

Some White House officials are privately expressing frustration over President Donald Trump’s recent embrace of a message stoking racial and cultural divisions.

The Trump allies are telling him that he has a better argument to make and to focus on his accomplishments in office and offer sharp criticism of his opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, said two officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to frankly discuss private conversations.

But Trump — four months away from facing voters in his re-election bid and trailing Biden in the polls — is “going with his gut” and “relying on instinct,” the two officials said. Instead of touting wins, Trump has opted to zero in on the national debate about race and side with supporters who view themselves as victims unfairly cast as racists in the renewed national discussion about discrimination targeting minorities.

So trump hasn't actually withdrawn the US from the World Health Organization,he's signed paperwork to withdraw them next year, 6th July 2021, he's given a one year notice
https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavir...

Which means it can be withdrawn until then, but he can use it as a political point in his campaign...

The New York State Department of Financial Services fined Deutsche Bank $150 million Tuesday and slammed the lender for "mistakes and sloppiness" in its relationship with accused sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Authorities said Deutsche Bank's "significant compliance failures" allowed Epstein to conduct hundreds of transactions totaling millions of dollars that should have prompted additional scrutiny.

Here's the interesting bit
The suspicious transactions flagged by the regulator included payments to individuals who were publicly alleged to have been Epstein's co-conspirators in sexually abusing young women -- as well as payments to Russian models, school tuitions for several women, hotel expenses and direct payments to numerous women with Eastern European last names.
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/07/07/business/jeffre...

Deutsche Bank has provided “exemplary cooperation” in the investigation, has turned over detailed financial records about these payments to Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators, meaning that New York State investigators now have a money trail for identifying, investigating, and prosecuting Epstein’s co-conspirators, or possibly knowing where blackmail payments came from?

I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm noticing an increase in dormant/low post count accounts suddenly trolling in NP&E. I'm wondering if one of the usual trolls has started hijacking dormant accounts, or whether lockdown is bringing out the nutters?

A lot of trolls have cottoned on to this thread. I actively avoid them and dont engage with them on other areas of the site. Therefore, a big red flag when I see them posting in here.

The sort you'd calmly, quickly and politely move away from, if you accidentally found yourself in their company in a pub.

It's scary that they almost have it down to a routine.

I always find it odd that these "not" Trump supporters only seem to share anti Biden information and never balance it out with anything remotely critical of Trump.

If they are truely neutral in hating both sides, surely they should be critical of Trump as well?

With any luck this latest one will realise we're not daft and give up whilst he's only a little bit behind.

As I've mentioned before, the Trump supporters (and not Trump supporters) are really doing the Dems job for them. By trying to drag Biden down into the muck they're really only highlighting that Trump has no redeaming qualities as president... And that is ultimately why he'll lose. He isn't competing against Biden, he's competing against the last 4 years of Trump. In order for an incumbent to win, they need to convince voters they weren't terrible at the job.

I actually find it disappointing that there is no real, constructive counter narrative in this thread. It is just a stream of trolls.

I got into a thread on Rennlist about Trump. That was a rabbit hole I only just escaped from with my sanity. I guess a lack of bran and IMS issues got them so nasty.

Five or six years ago, the story of Trump as president would have been unbelievable. Most of us would have felt that the US could never get into that state. Corrupt practices that belong to a third world country would not, of course, be allowed to profligate. Nepotism, ineptitude, corruption, allegiances with countries that wish to destroy the US's influence in the world, and even the country itself could not flourish.

And look what's happened. It's juicy all right, but appalling also. It's sad and frightening as well. Could it happen here? Five or six years ago I would have said 'no way'.

That is spot on; something I was thinking about. There is no sensible support for Trump on here. This thread is not a discussion, not a free exchange of ideas (yeah, I know, not many threads on NPE are). There's the deluge of information from the estimable Byker and a few others. On the other side there's just gainsaying and nonsense.

Of a morning, I open this thread with a dread. 'What's he done now?' goes through my mind. There's no let up. At the back of my mind there's the thought that Americans were stupid enough to vote in someone who appears a fraud, and has done all his life. What's to stop them doing the same in November?

It puts me in a bit of a bad mood, but it is compulsive. They'll write about this in years to come, and readers will think it has been exaggerated, or one-sided. But, as we have seen on here, the 'other side' have empty arguments. Thanks goodness F1 is back.
