I find it odd that Trump is seemingly going all-in with his chips and placing them so far right that they’re nearly falling off the table. Surely the numbers cannot stack up to give him a win doing this, as he will eliminate too much of the swing-vote?

Are we all missing something here, and there’s a very clever play going on that will grasp victory from the jaws of deceit defeat at the last minute?
trump doesn't have Bannon, doesn't have the same clever team he had for 2016, so trump is running the campaign backed by Kushner. He has no new ideas so thinks his base won it for him, backed by his yes men who are running him TV ads praising him on TV channels he watches, not giving him bad news, giving him fake polls etc, so he truely believes he is winning.

It's why there was so much fall out over Tulsa, they couldn't spin that
How can Kushner, a Jew, push far right agendas without a thought to the past?

Pompeo says the US is "certainly looking at" banning Chinese social media apps, including TikTok.

"I don’t want to get out in front of the President, but it’s something we’re looking at,” he says

Of course, nothing to do with TikTok users wreaking trumps Tulsa rally...

Roger Stone asked for emergency help from the DC Circuit yesterday to delay his July 14 prison date until September. He's due to go to prison next week. White House is stretching this out because they know Stone has all the dirt on trump over many years of business, not just the 2016 election and russian assistance.

Hmmm - this isn't going to pan out well for Trump - he's already been branded a "rancid racist" of the back of one of his latest tweets

Why does the president think Bubba Wallace personally has to apologize for a crew member finding a noose in a garage and bringing it to NASCAR’s attention, prompting NASCAR to notify Wallace and launch an investigation?

Is this trump proving the point about not speaking until you know the facts. Were the facts in his daily briefing he never reads?

Here’s the NASCAR president’s timeline of events:
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nascar/news/bubba-...

On Sunday, after initial inspection and prior to the race, a member of the 43 team noticed the noose in the garage stall.

"At roughly 4:30, NASCAR was alerted to the presence of the noose. At that point we did a full sweep of the garage by our security team, and only the rope of the 43 team stall was a noose. All the others were regular ropes.

"At about 6 o’clock, NASCAR senior leadership met and immediately determined this needed to be investigated and began those initial steps in the investigation.

"At approximately 7:30, I notified Bubba Wallace of what was found in the garage. After that, we continued to gather facts and conduct our investigation.

Still nothing like the POTUS trying to appeal more to his white supremacist base...
Perhaps he's just pissed that the NASCAr carrying the Trump 2020 logo crashed out in the pitroad - a prophetic metaphor

It had been there years. If you look at garagecam footage from races years ago you can see more than one garage pull with similar knots. After the investigation in which the FBI confirmed it had been there years he continued to pursue the noose line.

Also a noose is a slip knotwhich tightens under load. As I understand it the knot in the garage was not a slip knot. It would be a crap garage pull if it was.

All the evidence says it's a garage pull nothing else.

Thats not what the Nascar report said, they said since th eprevious fall, and with events happening outside you can understand why they took the actions they did
" At that point we did a full sweep of the garage by our security team, and only the rope of the 43 team stall was a noose. All the others were regular ropes."

"On Tuesday morning NASCAR received additional video from a team that provided it to the FBI. The video corroborates the testimony from one of the interviews that the FBI had conducted that the noose was present in that stall during the fall Cup event. The U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI informed NASCAR that their investigation had conclusively found this was not a hate crime."

"NASCAR conducted a thorough sweep of all the garage areas across the tracks where we race. So across those 29 tracks, and 1,684 garage stalls, we found only 11 total that had a pull-down rope tied into a knot. And only one noose — the one discovered Sunday in Bubba Wallace’s garage. "
"We further determined that the noose was not in place when the October 2019 race weekend began, but was created at some point during that weekend. Given that timing and the garage access policies and procedures at the time, we were unfortunately unable to determine with any certainty who tied this rope in this manner or why it was done."

"Let me reiterate two things: Bubba Wallace and the 43 team had nothing to do with this. Bubba Wallace has done nothing but represent this sport with courage, class and dignity. It’s offensive seeing anyone suggest otherwise, and frankly, it’s further evidence of how far we still need to go as a society."
"Secondly, there has been discussion and criticism of how this was handled and characterized. Some feel that the phrasing or words used were not right. That comes with the territory. And I will take full responsibility for that, and for the emotion that was attached to it.

"Based on the evidence we had, we felt that one of our drivers had been threatened, a driver who had been extremely courageous in recent words and actions. It was our responsibility to react and investigate, and that’s exactly what we did."

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nascar/news/bubba-...

Following trumps tweet, NASCAR used its official Twitter account to post the hashtag #WeStandWithBubba.

They also issued this official statement “We are proud to have Bubba Wallace in the NASCAR family and we commend his courage and leadership. NASCAR continues to stand tall with Bubba, our competitors and everyone who makes our sport welcoming and inclusive for all racing fans.”

NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick originally tweeted “We don’t need an apology. We did what was right and we will do just fine without your support.”
but also
“There is nothing to apologize for when: — Taking a perceived threat seriously — People show support for one another — Making policy to be more inclusive & more welcoming — Doing what you feel is right, regardless of any perceived business consequences.”

Quite a lot of the other drivers also tweeted the #IStandWithBubba hashtag

I'm asuming trump was thinking Nascar supporters were his base and this was a continuation of his direction he's been taking recently?

Why aren't more people in the US up in arms about the blatant theft going on? Is it because they think that they too might get a chance to get some? Like the illusion of the American dream but more corrupt?

In the 2017 (IIRC) footage of the garage I saw what looked like at least 3 that were "nooses". If they are no longer there then it indicates that the pulls get replaced regularly. Given the timeframe and the FBI investigation it seems like there was no intent.

A loop of rope seems a reasonable way of tying a garage pull, and if it wasn't a slip knot then it's not even a noose.

It's got him power an unheralded and unqualified level, access to information and people that were previously unobtainable and, if reports are to be believe, money that he wouldn't have otherwise had to secure his business ventures.

Morally flexible is the phrase I think

Agreed, but it was a garage pull "tied in the style of a noose" - the fact that it wasn't actually a functioning noose is a moot point. I don't believe it's a "reasonable way" of tying a garage pull. The simplest way is a length of rope with a knot on the end. Styling it like a noose was a deliberate act and took considerable effort (I've read that creating a noose is not the result of a couple of minute's work)

I'm guessing (hoping?) that it was just a garage monkey's idea of a joke and that it was pure coincidence that the only garage with a "noose-style" garage pull was assigned to Bubba Wallace. Ultimately, trying to hang someone with a noose attached to a garage door is probably only going to result in a garage door closing. If the noose had been attached to a roof rafter, the connotations would have been altogether more sinister.

However, the Nascar organisers should be forgiven for considering that it might not have been a coincidence and investigating accordingly (and to their credit, announcing that it was, indeed, a coincidence)

The unforgivable aspect is Trump's assertion that Bubba Wallace somehow owes everyone an apology, despite the fact that he didn't discover the noose (or even see it, according to Nascar). Still, when did anything that comes out of Trump's mouth have any serious correlation with the truth?....

It depends how much practice you get...

(More seriously, it doesn't take long and is the sort of thing I've done to while away the time.)

Of course.

They all know it's going to come out after the election, so they're trying to make a quick buck before their all the secrets are splashed across the front page.

From a Machiavellian capitalist perspective, you have to admire it... But from a human perspective they're money grubbing scum who should be dragged over the coals for not doing the right thing when they had the chance.

Swamp news

More on the companies bailout:

Businesses tied to Trump's family and associates stand to receive as much as $21 million in government loans designed to shore up payroll expenses for companies struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Beneficiaries of the PPP included a lettuce farming venture backed by Trump’s son, Kushner companies, and a dentist who golfs with the president. The figures were released after a lawsuit by several news organizations, including ProPublica.
