I am quite excited about tomorrow’s debate. I want to see Trump have a meltdown when he is muted.

He'll find a way around it don't you think? There's someone with some clever thinking still on his team. Hand signals? Prepared signs "Fake News, Liar, what about Hunter Bidens Emails, China's fault" etc

There's so much he can be challenged on, his tax evasion, his CV-19 lack of response...
38 times he's claimed cv-19 will just disappear.

In his first speech after his hospitalization for Covid-19, President Donald Trump stood on a White House balcony on October 10 and made a grand declaration about the coronavirus: “It’s going to disappear. It is disappearing.”

His words might have sounded more dramatic had he not been saying the same thing for eight months.

Trump has stuck to the refrain no matter what has been happening with the pandemic. Since February, the President has declared at least 38 times that Covid-19 is either going to disappear or is currently disappearing.

His proclamations have been wildly inaccurate. When Trump first started making the claim in February, it was about the time the US had just suffered its very first known Covid-19 death. More than 220,000 deaths later, Trump continues to falsely claim that the virus will somehow just go away — even as the US experiences yet another surge in cases and hospitalizations.

Edit: Actually - seeing as he could only manage 45 minutes last night before storming off, whats the likelyhood he'll do the same? Perhaps his team will claim a presidential emergency?

Not sure why the White House is giving 60 Minutes millions of dollars worth of free pre-air promotions but YOLO I guess.

It’s actually quite different, and far more frightening. Firstly, the U.K. is not winner takes all. It’s truly bizarre that the US has this system for a single post. I can see the positives and negatives of the U.K. system, where we are voting for a single representative for a few tens of thousands but the US system is insane. Secondly in the U.K. we have some attempt to mean people’s votes are of equal value. In the US the votes of people in the most rural states is worth something like 30 times the power of someone living in LA.
Well, firstly we don't have a President, we don't get to vote for our head of state. We do use a winner takes all policy via constituency to elect MP's.

Secondly, our system is skewed by constituency population size and is not as equal as you make out, the smallest has 21,200, the largest 109,900. The way our system works the skew is very much city biased, with far more MP's from the cities than the rest of the country.

Both systems have their issues if you are looking for the popular vote to win power. The only time you can say we have a one man one vote result has been via the Referendum, and the losers hated that one. laugh
Firstly, I’m aware we don’t vote for our head of state. That’s my point. We don’t have a bizarre system that intentionally dilutes votes.

Secondly, yes, there is a difference of 5 times, but that is very different to 30 times, and it is a function of geography, where as the US system is intentionally leaning in favour of rural areas. It’s not perfect in the U.K., but you have to draw boundaries somewhere. In the U.K., as you say, we have a city bias, where most people live. I live in a rural area, but I believe in fair representation.

President Donald Trump abruptly ended a solo interview with CBS News' "60 Minutes" Tuesday and did not return for an appearance he was supposed to tape with Vice President Mike Pence, according to multiple sources familiar with what happened.

After camera crews set up at the White House on Monday, Trump sat down with host Lesley Stahl for about 45 minutes on Tuesday before he abruptly ended the interview and told the network he believed they had enough material to use, according to two sources.
CBS News did not immediately respond to a CNN request for comment. When reached for comment, the White House did not dispute CNN's reporting.

The President later accused Stahl of not wearing a mask and tweeted out a brief clip of her without one while at the White House.
A person familiar with the situation told CNN that the image from the tweet shows Stahl with her producers immediately after Trump ended the interview. Stahl had not yet gone back to get her personal belongings to put her mask back on. She had a mask on from the time she entered the White House and just before the interview began.

Like trump cares about mask wearing... So from now on everyone should wear a mask when interviewing him...make him the odd one out
So we can take from that the interview was a disaster, and the classic Trump move is to claim they are fake news and not to be trusted.

His whinny, pathetic tweet about her not wearing a mask as well.

This is how they are when they win...can you imagine the levels of impotent rage when they lose?

Interesting take on that..has any other President in history ever been under attack from the opposition and the media from day one of taking office?..its a bit like Brexit for the so-called liberal thinkers it wasnt supposed to happen..the little people voted the wrong way and upset the gravy train..personally i think Trump gets a landslide win but it wont matter who wins as neither side will accept the defeat.U.S politics is finished..UK too probably.

I genuinely would not be surprised to see him walk over to Bidens podium in order to continue his drivel when his mic gets shut off, or just shout.

I am a little surprised he hasn't shown any more sign of covid though, i know he was given doses of experimental drugs but i fully expected to see him struggling to breathe a little more or looking more tired. As mentioned earlier, he couldn't (or wouldn't for some childish reason) complete 60 minutes so maybe the 90 min debate will see him flagging

Really?
I mean just the takeaways from yesterdays news is that trump has secret hidden bank accounts in China and has been accepting money from the chinese governement, somthing that he accused Biden of doing.

That it's been revealed that trump has siphoned even more money from his campaign that was previously known.

That he can't even make a 60 minute interview without storming off..

And the report of the children separated from their parents

And somehow it's everyone elses fault that they are reporting this.

Thats just yesterday - we've had 4 years of similar everyday from trump and his team

How you can accept all of that and claim trump is the victim is frankly rediculous and saya lot about your personal morals

Incidently, trumps refused to accept any of the normal niceties usually undertaken by continuing to attack and make numerous false claims about Clinton and Obama

There were ~130m voters in 2016, so we are already well over 1/4 of the voter total from the last election and still nearly 2 weeks to the election. trumps actions have motivated people to go out and vote early.

Is the cut off for polling stations a hard cut off at say 10pm, or if you are in the queue at 10pm can you still vote even if you don't physically vote till 11pm? I can forsee lots of dem stronghold areas being subject to a lot of unexpected problems for the polling station buildings and immediate surrounding area, or am i just being too cynical...

Has any other president lied so much from day one of taking office about anything and everything? He even lied before day one, in his attempt to get elected

Donald Trump has been treated with kid gloves by the media.

Has there ever been a president so offended and hypersensitive that they will fly off the handle on Twitter over any perceived slight?

Trump has received a free ride from the press and it's still not enough... You have to claim victimhood when you haven't even had the misfortune to suffer the prerequisite trauma.

You got to be kidding..there isnt one media outlet from CNN/CNBC to Washington Post/New York Times (apart from Fox)that ever says anything positive to say about anything he has done in his presidency ..hence the 'fake news' line from day one..he already knew how their reporting would be biased.

When he actually does something which could be reported in a positive light, I'm sure they'll report on it positively...

The so called fake news is usually just accurate reporting.

Why would they say anything positive the man is an unmitigated disaster and a really terrible human being to boot? Pointing out his lies, his criminality, nepotism etc is their job. It’s not bias, he really is that bad!
