Not quite, it's Je-len - the first syllable is half way between 'Je' and 'Shhhh' and the second is half way between 'lane' and 'len'
Not quite - Gh is a hard G https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghislain À noter que la graphie du G suivi d'un H ou d'un U implique la prononciation du (g) durmikef said:

Slightly ot but how in the hell is her name pronounced?
‘Ghee-lane’A lot of English people with a reasonable understanding of French will say it as Jill-aine.

It’s only a matter of time before Maxwell is pronounced dead.
Its pronounced Max-Well. Any other pronouncement means you aren't posh enough.
the first syllable is half way between 'max' and 'mahx' and the second is half way between 'well' and 'ell'

Real World: "Ghislaine Maxwell?? Most prominent female scandal face since Christine Keeler"
Voices from below a rock under a bridge somewhere lonely in Norway: "Christine who"??
I like my rock. It's got motorbikes and my friends and chickens. Voices from below a rock under a bridge somewhere lonely in Norway: "Christine who"??

Doesn't mean I know who this person is or what she may or may not have been up to. Never heard of her until now. Sorry to disappoint those who insist differently.

We are lucky to live in a free society. We couldn't and shouldn't force people not to be ignorant; we can, however, be exasperated when People revel in their ignorance and fearful for the future when we look at the sheer number of such people
I don't revel in ignorance, but there's only so much one can know about. Whether I knew who Ms Maxwell was before the story broke wouldn't affect anything in either wider society or my own life. I don't keep a list of close associates of criminals, just in case they hit the headlines at a later date. I'm sure a lot of the "fame of the name" is in relation to her father. How many businessmen who died when you were six years old can most of us give a detailed biography of?crofty1984 said:

Easy when your father in law was in the print and lost all his considerable pension he was expecting...https://moneyweek.com/505757/great-frauds-in-histo...
I might add that not many pensioners got 50%, most were lucky too see 5-10% return of what they were owed
