I always used to think that Westwood was an Ali G-type wind up act. I was shocked when I found out he wasn’t.

Creepy age rule.

Your age / 2 +7.

48 / 2 = 24 + 7 = 31.
We had a tenant in his 70s with a girlfriend in her teens and she was no minger. He wasn't a wealthy man. I never worked out how that worked despite trying very hard.

He always made me cringe whenever I heard him speaking, he just came across as a kind of parody act when in fact he was being serious and that was him.

I have a friend who met her current husband when she was still at school! IIRC She was 14/15 I'm unsure how much older than her he is, but it's at least 10 years, maybe 12+ He's the only guy she's ever slept with. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the only guy who she's kissed!

What I find interesting is that he's quite odd. A real retiring type. At his own wedding he spent most of the day hidden away, not mixing with virtually all of the guests. Had to be cajoled to come and do the cake cutting bit! (I think I said no more than 5 words to him!) And soon after he tried VERY hard to get her to quit her job and become a full time housewife (which is not her way at all!) A strange idea, given his job is very basic (he has no skill set) and he almost certainly earns about 2/3rds of what she brings home!

BUT

She UTTERLY adores him. Posts often on Social media how he's the best dad ever, best husband ever. Always looking out for her. Always encouraging her to be the best she can be. Without him she'd be nothing (which I doubt given she's very driven and runs her own business!) She posted a pic a few years back in a nice dress. I commented that she looked great. Not in a pervy way, but as a nice thing to say to a female mate! And she messaged me almost immediately asking me to remove my comment as "it might upset hubby" Which I did so as not to cause any problems. She also proudly told several people that he had put a tracking app on her phone as he cares about her wellbeing! eek

She's happy, he's happy. The kids are happy. Nothing I say or do will change anything. So I'll leave them to it.
She sounds like a typically groomed child.

Would be really interested to she where she is at when she hits 40.

I'm sure there was something many years ago where a certain group, probably part of the black community, let it be known that he had to stop speaking with the whole fake patois thing otherwise there would be consequences.

In fact, I remember he got shot, in a drive-by incident in Kennington. I don't know whether that was before or after the above.

All those people saying about Westwood maybe being an act, rather than one of the most influential DJs in hip hop might also be interested to know that the biggest DJ in the reggae music scene is also a 69 year old British white guy....

David Rodigan

He was just ahead of his time. Listen any of the skinny white youths that hang out in Nottingham and they all talk that way.

But he nay be talkin' ragga man!

He sounds exactly like he looks.

Westwood is the son of an Anglian bishop who went to the King Edward Norwich School. Who suddenly started to speak like a tit. If he had just kept his accent and gushed bout the music he would have had far more respect from many.
Apart from the fact he was British and said British rap is crap and many Brit rappers sound like they have a plump in their mouths.

I think that sort summed up his own insecurities more than anything.

Yeah she's so happy she had to ask you to delete a comment in case it 'upset hubby'.

Reading between the lines he sounds controlling
Controlling is an understatement, that sounds like an abusive relationship.

Oh for sure.

When he turned up to a club appearance in Jamaica for the first time, having gathered a big following on the wireless as it was back then, the entire club refused to believe he was the world famous reggae DJ they'd heard dropping all the latest beats from the island and around the world. It was only when he started playing music people accepted he really was David Rodigan. hehe I love the fact he doesn't really mix either, he's too old school for that and really is a 'selector' in every sense of the word.

You do understand TW was doing his thing around 20 years before Ali G became a character? I'm not making any excuses for any appalling behaviour (not that he has been found guilty of anything yet) but his contribution to music is above and beyond what a lot more respected people have achieved.

I had no idea he'd been a spud! For balance, Lord Nelson was also an old boy.

Chap I worked with was Jamaican and spoke both English and Creole, he easily broke into Creole when deep into a conversation as it was his native language. Trouble was that his mum was pale skinned and his dad dark skinned, he inherited very few genes from his father so basically looked Western rather than African-origin. It took a while for the inner-city Brummies to accept he was Jamaican and not randomly taking the piss out of them rofl

He mostly interfered with black girls right? Had he neglected them they would not doubt be claiming unequal opportunity. "Tim Westwood didn't shag me because I am black".

So he has been making people smile for a very long time.
