I must have missed it, can you explain why it isn't ?. A derogatory term applied exclusively to white people., certainly seems to be.

The Met have referred themselves to the IOPC
Good PR that is. The Met know that the IOPC has no teeth and even if it recommends just a slap on the wrist for the police the Met can simply ignore it.

Institutional racism still exists in the Met

It will be interesting to see what the IOPC makes of the encounter. If it was racial profiling then the officers should be sacked and made to pay compensation out of their own pockets (some hope).

Gammon fest as always, fk this place is depressing.

Teetering on the edge of racism, nudge, nudge. Denigrating the success of the lady involved.
Bit of casual misogyny and titter on.

Glad I like cars and bikes, otherwise this place would be impossible.

Why do I keep inflicting N,P&E upon myself? Must like to check in on others’ opinions, I guess.

It was suggested she was an Olympic athlete, I had read an article that stated she had competed in the Commonwealth games, not sure why that is denigrating ? its stating facts, "Olympic athlete" is incorrect unless you have actually competed in the Olympic games.

It seems like there is more to this than just the Police being heavy handed and/or stopping Black people for no reason.

They didnt get stopped for being Black, they were stopped, as any motorist would be for going the wrong way up a one way street, only they didnt stop, they drove away and were followed and it got ever so slightly dramatic, but not very.

Sometimes its not old white men dying to be all racist and sexist you know, sometimes if someone does something, it may be worthy of comment, like the "Karen" in the other thread being a racist arse in Central park.

Based on your "Gammon" comment, i.e. older white men, Prince Andrew should totally get a pass out on here, but he gets ripped to shreds.

Are you able to use the search function? Plenty of discussion on this.

Is there evidence available for this? If so, I agree that anyone doing this should be stopped by the police.

Why don't you make a point of addressing the specific posters who you think have been racist or misogynistic instead?
Even better why don't you add your opinion of the situation that's being discussed?
And lay off the gammon comments if you think labelling people on the basis of skin tone is inappropriate.

You want me to search through all the threads containing the word gammon?.

Life is too short, I'll go with racist term.

And there was no consensus. I consider gammon to be a deliberately provocative and racist term. The difference is that I believe it reflects rather more badly on those using it than the receipients. Rather like any racist language.

Going by the video posted earlier,

https://twitter.com/i/status/1280216824911736832

According to that they were stopped and drove off as the officers were getting out of their vehicle, they followed and were stopped again.

LOL! It's an interesting exercise.
It's supposed to demonstrate that it is sometimes impossible to judge who's in a car, whether it's just the one person, whether it's a full load, man, woman, kids, black, white, green.
What it highlights, inadvertently, is that some people exercise very poor judgement and logic and assume a racist or offensive overture, in something that simply isn't, just because of the mood and the environment that we find ourselves in.

Hello David, how’s Belgium ?

Any thoughts on the Belgian Police and all the deaths at the hands of their “racial profiling”

Or is it just the British Police you have an issue with?

Can't be racist against whites. On the other hand it's up to the poster how they take/interpret a joke.....

Because someone asked whether she made the Olympics?

I agree though, all wholly irrelevant to the police encounter.
I think it's fair enough, shes happy to use her platform to spout a load of rubbish about something that didnt happen in an attempt to stir the pot. It's reasonable for people who dont know who she is to ask for a bit of back ground on her.
You, in fact we all, are making a rather large assumption. Until all the facts come out, we don't know what, if anything did happen. I am extremely uncomfortable if what followed the second stop is acceptable police practice although i concede London is a damn sight more dangerous than sleepy wee Dundee.
