They both sounds like drama queens TBH. Out for a bird watch and you encounter a dog off the lead. Just leave and go somewhere else in Central Park, or escalate? Similarly her - put dog on a leash or get confrontational and then falsely call the cops saying you are being attacked?

When two idiios meet.

Had the same a few years ago in our old local reserve, woman with untrained dog off the lead going mental at mine (on a lead) so a swift right foot to the hound sorted the situation.

She went full on Karen and called the police, gladly gave my name and address. Couple of days later Police turned up all apologetic and asked if I'd like to make a complaint. As I didn't they explained they'd be giving her a warning anyway.

criminal record, job and even the dog is gone.

"The pet adoption agency that gave her the dog seen in the video took it back after criticism that the way she held its collar seemed to strangle it."

There are a few things that I can never understand with these types of stories.
There was a similar one with a firefighter guy having a BBQ in a park with friends in an area designated for that sort of thing.

If a person was threatening your life or intended to cause you harm, would they just stand there while you
pulled out your phone and made a call.

If you thought someone was acting in a threatening manner surely you would turn round and run in
the opposite direction.

It's the same as the types who "accidentally" get caught up in a riot or civil disturbance.
If you turn a corner and there is a full blown riot going on do you
a) carry on walking down the road straight towards it
b) turn around and head off pronto in the opposite direction.

Feel sorry for her in the fact she lost her job based on the video. I can see both sides, lone female in park, black guy fells vulnerable due to lone female.

They both should have just moved on from each other.

Wonder what the reason for the sacking was, I don't agree nor condone what she did but trial by media is not the way to resolve

Sadly we seem to becoming closer to the Orville episode where you vote for innocent/guilty.

I wonder what will be said if she commits suicide after this,

people are to quick to whip out there phones and judge(As a general point) not intended as per this,.

Shocking behaviour. Just think what could have happened to the guy if he hadn't filmed her.

Have you even see the video?

She asks him to stop recording her, he refuses, and she then calls the cops.

Instead of saying to the cops the truth, that she is is not happy about being recorded, she instead says there is a black man threatening her life.

Of course she was sacked. Even if guy wasn't black and she had lied about 'a person' threatening her life, it is still sackable as once it goes viral, her employers reputation is at stake.

She does seem a little on the idiotic side. She certainly picked the wrong time to appear racist. I don't see this as trial by media. Her firm sacked her, it appears, after they saw the video. I know job security in the US is even worse than in this, but one assumes she might have been given a chance to explain her actions.

I might agree that one action can have effects out of all proportion to the action itself, but I'm not sure it applies in this case. I don't think I'm vindictive, and a year inside seems a bit extreme if it happens, but she did, quite clearly, bring the repercussions down on herself.

Just curious about responses like this sometimes.

The woman has lost her job, and her dog too it seems, and now some are joyful that she might be jailed as well. Because clearly she needs to have her life completely destroyed for one "thought crime" smile

Ignoring the poor damsel/nasty black man aspect of her call, she lied to try get someone else into (a lot of) trouble when she was in the wrong.

Would you want to work with her?

Do we know that she wasn't given a chance to explain?

But to be fair, what possible explanation can there be other than her being a racist, lying lunatic?

Not exactly what you'd want in an employee in a responsible position.

Falsely reporting an assault in not a thought crime. She deserved her fate.
