Just curious about responses like this sometimes.

The woman has lost her job, and her dog too it seems, and now some are joyful that she might be jailed as well. Because clearly she needs to have her life completely destroyed for one "thought crime" smile
It went beyond any kind of thought crime when she phoned the police with false accusations.

If she'd just thought it she'd probably have got away with it, don't you think?

I'm surprised at anyone trying to defend what she did. It's indefensible as far as I can see.

She's falsely accused him of trying to kill her and reported to police.

Jesus Christ.

What if he hadn't been recording and she took umbrage to him telling her to do as the signs say? He would have been arrested and tried.

Like it or not, that is how it is in Merry'ca. Companies place particular emphasis on employees behaviour and anything that could harm their reputation. You either accept that or go self-employed.

I'm not defending what she did. Just querying the relish with which some seem to want her life destroyed.

What is an adequate punishment in their eyes?

Losing her job and struggling to get another professional job due to notoriety?
Losing her dog, which was the reason for the dispute?
Driven to suicide?

Imagine if she'd shouted Rape?
Without video!
The Black guy might be dead now!

Would you have thought the same for him if he hadn't been filming and was arrested (and given 'murica, lucky to just end up in prison rather than dead)?

Matches my opinion. She put someone in a position that could have put them in jail for a long time or worse, and for what? Asking her politely to do something she should have been doing anyway.

Welcome to social media and mob justice. It's a problem for sure, but IMO this is not the hill I'd fight my battle on.

She wasn't really that concerned about the guy was she (?) - fk her. I don't "relish" it exactly, but play silly games, win silly prizes as far as I'm concerned.

The minute she told the police she was being threatened she lost every tiny bit of sympathy. Glad she lost her job and dog (as she appeared to be strangling the poor thing as well).

That said, filming someone is just about the most annoying thing someone can do. I once had a tenant shove her phone literally 6 inches away from my face and refused to fk off whilst I changed the locks on a perfectly legal eviction. I felt like slapping the phone clean out of her hands.

Interesting last comment - when/if a given view changes, then what.

Do you think she would have celled police if a white well-dressed birdwatcher had made the same request?...and claim he was assaulting her?.
I would say its part of the story.

Wasn't this case not long after another innocent black guy had been shot by Police?

She made it about ethnicity, she didn't hysterically say it was a man threatening her, she specifically said "African American" man, as if she was trying to lend credence and additional peril to her self made situation because it was Black man.

She just didn't like being told to put her hound on the lead, I think if a white man had asked her she may have complied or just told him to ps off, she obviously as some issues, one of them is being pretty racist. She played the race card, she played the damsel in distress one as well when all she needed to do was say

"Ok, fair point the sign does say that, I will put him on the lead, thanks, you have a nice day good sir"

We dont know what has gone on in her past, she may have some underlying mental issues, or previously been attacked, but she could also be a massive entitled, histrionic, attention seeking drama queen.

Where did the "Karen" thing come from, seems to be used to describe women with forthright and deeply help opnions on social media, based on limited research and understanding ? is that correct, is there a male equivalent ? must be some candidates in her, maybe me smile

Chaps, i wasnt sticking up for her or doing 'false equivalents' or whatever - simply saying that both parties chose to esclaate (One more than the other)

To the guy - trying to educate a clearly unhinged individual
To the girl - turning a dog matter into a race matter into a police matter.

Noone really wins.

What do you think the outcome would have been had the Guy not been filming the incident?

Can you be certain that the true version of what happened would have been what the Police believed, or would they have taken what were blatant lies by the woman as gospel?

I rather suspect that it could well have gone the other way, and the Guy could have ended up facing the same consequences as the blatant liar has/is now suffering (not losing a dog he didn't have being the exception).

Actions = consequences, some would say the consequences were deserved.
