To keep the anti vax loons happy, it does seem to have some side effects. Nothing that can't be cured with a paracetamol.

Ironically the vaccine is almost certainly safer to take than the paracetamol.

Now, they can go on line and talk to other like minded dribbling loons, and the anti-vax Karens can talk to other deluded morons.

I'm not an anti vaxer for polio or MMR. They are awful conditions for which a well proven and minimal risk vaccine is available. None of that is true in this case.

C19 is a small risk to all but the most frail.

A vaccine developed in a few months under huge political pressure and with enormous rewards attached cannot possibly be as well proven. It wouldn't take years of carefully controlled trials for other drugs if it was that easy.

Make it voluntary by all means, sell it at pharmacies or give it to anyone who wants it. The idea of making it mandatory is appalling and I for one would rather go to prison.

Prision would not be fair on the other prisoners and officers. You should simply have to self isolate at home until you have the vaccine or pass away.

Social media has simultaneously empowered them and filled our minds with bullst. The masses aren't using the internet to study genetics or statistics, they're sharing memes and conspiriacy theories. And unlike the tabloids, it isn't a daily dose, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Even the History Channel, presumably for people who purport to be interested in history, is full of alien conspiriacy theories and treasure hunting, with little archaeology or history.

We've swapped learning, which is pretty dry a lot of the time, for being entertained.

I think another feature of social media, this forum included, is that you can only take posts at face value. Thus the opinion of biologist has the same value as a guy who watched a video on youtube.

That's before we get to the bog standard biases we are all raised with.
